  1. i complained to the garmin factory rep about mine being off. he said they take the imfo off paper charts and it may be off a little when going from 1 chart to the next. my furno is spot on
  2. being in maine we can have plenty of fog. a couple yrs ago we were coming back when the fog came in. couldnt see 150 ft. i was heading west and a sail boat race going south. had 35 targets on radar. thats when its really nice to have. now if it would only pick up lobster pots. mine in imboard and i have a rope cutter on the shaft. there are lobster pots every where
  3. my sil works for hinckley. i believe he said the maintenance agreement to take care of the bright work and service the jet drive was 10k per year on a picnic boat
  4. that looks a lot like mine. navnet is what i have but a bigger screen also have one on the fly bridge. should be a flex gate compass with it. i would say its the black box below the small screen. looks like they cut the cable from the gps ant. there will be a map card. is it for the area you want? if its in good working order the price isnt bad. new would be 3 to 4 times that. furno is commercial grade and you can get them fixed if need be. do you need radar or just want it? here when the fog roils in it nice to have
  5. almost everyone around here buys from hamliton marine. i had a garmin on my other boat. it was ok at best. accurate it was not. this boat i have a furno . way better. its plotter sounder radar and weather fax. one big advantage is being able to over lay the radar on the plotter. a lot of the lobster fishermen use hondex. said they were simple and tuff. claimed they were made by honda .
  6. anybody own one? my wife thought they were cute so she bought one. the co she works for buys all there pickups from big dealer that sells ford gm dodge fiat benz. my job was make the deal with the fleet manager. not a bad guy for a salesman. he knows a lot more about what he is selling than most. so talking trucks. ram is keeping the cummins ( i was told 3 yrs ago they would shift to a fpt) 6.7 fpt and 6.7 cummins were a joint venture. transmissions still having trouble including the asin. gm sludgy will scream over this. the allison trans is not built by allison. built by gm under licence from allison and that runs out in a year. gm thinks what they are replacing it with will be as good. ford 6.7 says exhaust sensor problems. he confirmed a lot of imfo i already knew
  7. west coast of canada maybe to yes on the east coast no. then if the wood was cut in maine then sawed at a mill in quebec then sold in the us is it us lumber or Canadian lumber?? or like the pine mill down the road from me that had more orders than product that bought canadian lumber took the wrappers off and put theres on.is it us or canadian?
  8. i have 2 a mac and a sears. back when motorcycles were put together with Phillips screws they were a must have. now i dont use them but once every couple yrs
  9. moose river lumber jackman me says they will expand. more drying capacity and a 2th shift. they think the tariff is going to help them. they are owned by pleasant river lumber with another sp fir stud mill in dover and 2 pine mills
  10. this fight has been going on for years. anyone that blames it on trump is wrong. there have several investigations into subsides on lumber. on the west coast from bc yes maybe. from the easy coast not so much. when they say lumber there are talking 2x4 2x6 ect from the east sp fir. in maine there are 2 big players pleasant river and irving. the rest of the stud wood cut in maine is hauled to quebec sawed into 2x4 ect . and sold in the us
  11. The local national guard did have a couple unimogs. if you buddy is looking for a hoe to work that is not the answer. a 580 case 310 deere would be wayy better. a backhoe will do a lot of things but it dosent do any of them well. it never reaches far enough or swings. a excavator is much better to dig with but you cant drive it down the road at 25mph like a hoe would
  12. in the mid 70,s mb had a marketing agreement with case. and they were sold thru case dealers. the hoe is off a 580c
  13. and always spray up the window drains in the bottom of the door. i would say if the 150 went 5.1 yrs with out oil of something to help he did real well
  14. if you dont want them to rust away you gotta take care of em and that dosent mean go to the car wash once a month. i have 3 trucks plowing and sanding town roads. so i have way more rust issues than you guys ever thought of. as an example of how much salt gets put out. we put up 3000yds of sand with 300 ton of salt in it. should have 500 ton in it. couple things that do work fluid film $35 a gallon $25 for a cheap under coat gun. bar oil cut with a little diesel fuel. the 04 f250 i traded 3 yrs ago with 130000 on it had no rust no where none. and i dont wash them till spring. anyplace there are using liquid calcium. it melts ice real well along with steel. and it will get into places the carwash will not get to and it attracts moisture and keeps on doing it. on the f250 it takes 2 mins to pull the panels behind the seat. spray flied film no more rusted cab corners. i am not a fan of a boxed frame either or all the holes under the cabs
  15. i have a boat also. that takes way to much time and money. since it lives in salt water i paint the bottom every spring and the list goes on
  16. the way i see it if its your money buy what you want
  17. broke several axles. he did have tracks on it. he likes the polaris much better. no engine heat in the cab or as much noise
  18. i tried a kawasaki it was boring. and with the motor between the seats like a canam . i was told they get warm inside
  19. i dont know much about a can am. i know someone that has a comander and he thought it was great till he started having trouble with it. then he bought a general
  20. go try a rzr1000 then get back to us
  21. last month i bough a new sxs. polaris general. 1000cc 100hp. i guess you could say its slow speed limited to 72mph. it is quick. have all of 20 miles on it so far
  22. the realtor is looking out for his commission. do not say the place is perfect i gotta have look at everything. roof ,foundation , wireing , plumbing, drainage, taxes
  23. i have bought a few repos. its all risk but it can pay off. this seems to be how it works here . bank takes the house the owners trash it 6months later the bank sends a plumber out to winterize it usually in january on a day the temp is -20. if the plumbing is pex tubing it may be ok. plastic pvc its broke somewhere. always broke at the shower heads. no way of draining it there. hot boiler might be ok if your real lucky. if everything was drained before it got cold ok if not??? if you need to replace any pipeing use pex easy real easy. a house that was repoed 2 yrs ago is easier to buy than one thats been a few months. another trick the banks have. i have had this happen. i have to be at the banks laywers office at 10 am with a 10k deposit in case i am high bidder. i am the only one there. the house was trashed it went thru 2 winters cold and they wount let me inside till i buy it. i bid 55k the laywer bids 129k for the bank. then a real a state co lists it for 130. now they dont have to put it out to bid again
  24. could be this and a few others that could cause it. now to keep on driving it with it that hot is asking for trouble and a bigger repair bill.
  25. a viscous fan never completely stops turning. unless he has a winter front on it or the rad is covered with oil something it has plenty or air flow at 70
