  1. No, they are much stronger. SBYL.
  2. I was just winding the puzzler up, Bob, and basically just saying the same shit he said about TY. And aren't those glued together too. Poor puzzler.
  3. Ok, already, I get it! You are likely correct as I do remember those black vents on the hood you speak of. That is not a pic of our's, it was pulled from the internet but looked exactly like it, I thought.
  4. Imagine if they listed/noted all their warranty work!?!? My 09 GMC 5.3 engine was replaced around 10,000 km's as it clacked worse than a diesel. Less than a year later, after my gas gauge quit working due to shoddy work at the other GM dealership, when I told the GM tech my engine had been replaced, he couldn't find any info about it in their system and when he contacted the other dealership who replaced the engine, they mysteriously couldn't find any info/paper work about it. Even though I was told I would be, I never did receive the paperwork for my file either. Like I have said numerous times on here, it will be years upon years, if ever, that I ever own another GM pick up! They are, by far, the worse, slowest, ill responsive, POS on the road today!
  5. My sentiments exactly! By far, the slowest, ill responsive thing I have ever driven. That thing drove me nuts every time I drove it. Either you're the size of Andre the Giant, or you intentionally tried to dent/bend it? Please explain the circumstance?
  6. Just for you, Sludge. Even with all the incentives, advertising no like tomorrow, etc, GM still can't keep pace. http://www.durhamregion.com/news-story/7097741-canadian-auto-sales-set-record-for-january/
  7. I have heard that many times as well, any negative/problems being talked about and they claim it's bashing and remove the post.
  8. I don't like the looks of them nor did I see the need for them. In your case, and many others, I can understand why people choose them. You don't necessarily lose any width, just the space in front and behind the wheel well as far as I know? I still think a sheet of plywood will fit in there no problem?

Thanks Tim. Feels great to be back in the saddle again. Monte and Barber were out today and said the same thing, and hardly any traffic. I figured the opposite, with both things, might be the case but pictures don't lie, nor do they.
  10. From what I have read, the Ram's are pretty accurate. I know my 13 Hemi gets better mpg than my 09 5.3 Sierra did, but looking the GM dash, it would show differently. Just over 50,000 km's on mine now and so far so good. I still love the truck, and it pulls anything I own, including my tank of a Yamaha, with ease.

    Winter 2017

Made it out to Port Perry by 8:30 this morning and there was already someone there that had already left. As we were unloading, another guy pulled in. My son and I (his first ride in 2 yrs) left around 8:45 and headed east. The trails were in great shape! Made it the Ganny and experienced pretty much the same conditions as last Friday, although slightly rougher in a few sections. As we stopped for our first break, about 5-7 sleds in one group went by then another small group. In all honesty, in all my years riding the Ganny on a Friday, I have never seen the amount of sleds as I seen today! I work 4-10's, with Friday being my day off, but I imagine there was a lot sick calls into people's places of employment today! About 15 or so trucks and trailers when we arrived back to Port. Most Fridays, I am lucky if I see another. 120 or so Km's, and my first ride with my son in 2yrs, equalled a great day!

That's a good ride, George! We likely got 15+ CM's here all toll so hopefully PP got at least that amount. I assume the trails were busy? I don't think I would have wanted to be in the Ganny today!

Port hardly got anything compared to Oshawa. Maybe a couple cm's? Trails from Port to the Ganny are pretty icy/hard but thanks to those couple CM's or I would have returned home. Conditions improved the closer you got to the Ganny but if you don't have studs and sharp carbides, don't go! If I were to do it again, I'd unload at the Ganny and skip Port. Surprisingly, the Ganny is excellent for the most part. I was the first on many freshly groomed trails and had a blast for my first ride of the year. +7 tomorrow so take advantage now.

Nice! Anyone know how Port Perry faired out last night? We got 4-5 CM's of fluff here in Oshawa.
  15. Hand warmer kit? I thought the only sleds that needed a kit were older model Yamaha's? Don't tell me, after all these years, that that is still an ongoing issue?

I bet that threw a wrench into your day, Steve. Glad to see you 2 were able to get out despite that setback. I believe I have only been stopped three times in all my years of sledding? One time, heading into Hali coming from Madawaska, we got stopped in a huge line where about 3 cops were checking for paperwork. In all my life, I have never met such an arrogant prick of cop! This guy was on a huge power trip yelling and barking instructions and it was blatantly clear he was in no hurry to get the line of sleds moving. The other 2 cops helping him were much nicer/better but it seemed he had the final say when one could leave? One time in the Ganny, coming around a corner, we came upon another one doing checks. He stopped us and said we were out of control?!?! My bud and me both said, excuse me, we were doing about 30, if that, so how is that out of control? He made us remove our helmets, checked all our paper work then suggested we slow down. He was newb for sure but I guess they need to get some experience somewhere. The 3rd time, coming back from the Ganny and almost back at the Port Perry C/H, I got stopped by 2 officers heading east. First one was a female cop who just wanted to check that I had a trail pass, which I did, of course, but she would not allow me to move until the second police officer also seen that I had a permit?

    ice scratchers

If you can't see or get the jist of the vids, especially in the second one, then I don't know what to tell ya.

    ice scratchers

I have a set of Hartman ski ice scratchers that I installed on my last set of skis. http://www.hartmaninc.com/scratchers.html Although I never had to use them, I liked what I heard and seen via youtube vids. My skid is only a 121 so mounting any on my skid is basically a waste of time as these vids demonstrate.
  19. That sled was a labor of love for me, Tinker. I wanted it mechanically and structurally sound as it was going to be my son't first big step up from his Kitty Cat. In all honesty, it was tough getting rid of it as I thought my XLT was going to be too big of a jump for him, but in hindsight, I am glad I sold it and it went to a good home. Speaking of Vintage sleds. I took these pics of an old Polaris in the back of a pick-up at the Marmora car show last summer or the one before that? Pretty cool, imo.
  20. Same, and I love doing my own work knowing I am saving a shit load of cash, plus I feel more confident it is done correctly rather than trusting some snot nosed rookie doing it. I got my son into doing the same.

  22. I see, that even after all these years you're still in denial and you will go to great lengths to find one lone tidbit, among all the negative truths/facts, that use unfair means and lies to showcase the product you blindly praise.
