  1. The last method I would ever recommend anyone use is "trial and error" when determining the price to compete with. Since your view is narrowly defined by middle school economics I will shed more light. Some companies very well may use "willy nilly" pricing tactics, that may even work at times and there will likely be customers paying the price. The method I learned and use is to know my competition inside out and upside down. I know exactly what products and services they are providing and how I am going to compete in the market. Price is LAST on the list of most important factors and almost any customer I have met over the decades will echo that sentiment when asking them how they make purchasing decisions. This always provides me with the runway to increase prices when the cost of labor or in staying on topic with the thread my taxes go up I increase prices - every time - to maintain my margins. I'll even give you three guesses as to what happens when I do this? My competition also RAISES prices. What does "the market" do in this case? Buy, die or do otherwise but I don't care as long as I continue to keep my employees paid and I'm able to continue doing business for a reasonable return on my time and effort. Period end of story.
  2. The early days of the 1200 was not iTC it arrived at the end days of the 1200 in 2016 but yeah, I agree there are many things that get's those guys panties in a bunch but they also have to deal with the gunt over on that site. I do realize that I got really lucky that both my 16' 1200 and 20' 900T both came with instant throttle response but only because I was able to order the limited editions with lester throttle blipping option.
  3. The throttle now has a cable attached to the iTC box relocated under the hood. I have not heard if there was any remapping done to it so while it will take more effort, for those that like that sort of thing, it may still be too "sensitive" for some that cannot adapt to instant response. BRP intentionally made the throttle response instant so idiot's like the lester's could not complain about lag or lack of response. Now idiot's complain it's too sensitive when all they need to do to dial it back is run the sled in normal or eco mode so they don't get bucked off. Most of the aftermarket tune's also offer throttle remapping to dial back the response for the faint of heart.
  4. I really don't give two shits about your junior high economics lessons. At least acknowledge the fact there is no "market will bear" magic formula and it takes far more than middle school economics textbook lessons to run a successful company. Does not matter if your revenue is $1M or $100B. I have worked in both realities. Keep googling better. You might even accidentally stumble on the real answer but I doubt it. So far you have proven you cannot see the big picture let alone understand it.
  5. Still waiting for your "what the market will bear" formula. Take your time, google some more.
  6. Tell me economics shit for brains. What calculation do you use to figure out exactly "what the market will bear?" Can't wait. Maybe it's something I can use the next time I figure out how to price the goods and services my company provides.
  7. Even spelling it out for him I doubt moto is going to have enough live brain cells to process and understand. While his ilk see it as a fallacy other motivated people understand that they can achieve in nearly anything if they work smart and put in the effort. It's why he missed my mcdonald's response completely and why there will be wage disparities on the spectrum for all workers in all types of jobs. In the case of moto's extremely limited cognitive abilities he wiffed on two levels. First, that servers can in fact make a decent living without a degree of any kind AND that employers paying double the minimum wage for help will somehow keep prices of their goods and services the same. The fact he does not realize either is evidence enough of that his brain is dead and his cheerleaders in this thread are rowing the same boat. None of theme realizing it's just going in circles.
  8. As usual the point will be missed by those that cannot get Trump evicted from their heads. A large swath of those chanting in these crowds actually cast real votes for dopey gropey in the hope (as naïve as it was) that he would actually do something positive for the country and maybe even follow through on the many party promises. What they are slowly realizing is that when you cast a vote for lifer, senile, completely ineffective politician that loves children that this is what you get. As for flock mentality. They are exercising their right to free speech. Something the current shitbirds in DC and their rabid supporters are doing their best to censor at every possible opportunity.
  9. It may take the younger generation a bit longer to figure things out but they eventually do. This movement by students across college sports is entertaining to watch and interesting the the media is doing their best to ignore it so that just makes them want to continue to doing it even more. Even gropey-dopey is starting to get upset.
  10. Agree and some of that thought process is on display in this thread blaming "the rich" for their problems whatever being "rich" these days actually means. Fucking ridiculous and the reason it's so easy for anyone with even a little ambition to get ahead today. When every company on the planet is hiring all you need is half a working brain and a willingness to expend some effort to grab a job that just a few months ago many would never have been previously considered for. Opportunity is there but then you have threads like these that prove there is a serious problem with the declining mental ability of the general population.
  11. No, you're still a fucking idiot. My post had nothing at all to do with "a whole sector of the workforce." Short of any ability to comprehend or understand business or basic economics so that's what you responded to it with.
  12. Their hiring but you have to pass a piss test. Based on your posts I doubt that's possible.
  13. Yamaha definitely makes the best looking Cat.
  14. This isn't MacDonald's shit for brains.
  15. Yes, just one of many that comes to mind. Just love these economics "experts" that have never run an actual successful business or company in their lives. If they did they would not make idiotic comments. Anything that effects profits impacts prices. That's economics 101. If these shit for brains think things like raising the minimum wage or raising taxes has no impact on prices consumers pay they must have their fucking heads in the sand. A good friend that is a partner in a chain of restaurants that was successful enough to survive the covid lockdowns has plenty of examples to give. They have raised prices on everything across the board. Some of it because of the cost of goods they buy but also because they now have to pay workers $15 per hour. This when their average server was already making $100K per year in total compensation. This is a job that does not require any type of advanced degree or even specific knowledge. Just a half decent personality and the willingness to hustle. If these dipshits think the owners are absorbing the salary increase they are truly short on working brain cells.
  16. Immortal? WTF. Tell that to all the corporations that fail each and every year shit for brains.
  17. I saw two Poo 4 stroke turbo test mules back in 2015. The motor has to be ready for prime time. Obviously development of the 850/650 along with chassis and other improvements they have focused on over the past 5 years is what has likely put it on the back burner.
  18. It's interesting how one dealership can provide different levels of customer experience to different customers. I have purchased from River Valley and had great experiences with both sales and service from them and no, I have not purchased $100K plus boats from them. I have purchased Polaris product (just a Slingshot) from the Rochester location and the sales and service was excellent. They even took care of a couple of unique issues I had with it under warranty that they technically did not have to. I purchased a total of 4 new sleds out of the Red Wing store and same thing. Super competitive pricing, easy purchase process and the service department was responsive and thorough when I needed them to be. and the parts people were also really good. I would not consider my purchases there to be at all in the "big spender" category as there are a lot of customers there that spend well into six figures on the boats they sell and heck even side x sides that cost 2X what a sled costs. This is not an recommendation for this dealership just my experience over last 7 or 8 years. BTW my salesman at Red Wing was Kyle Price (still there) and my salesman in Rochester was Garrett but that was a long time ago and he no longer works there.
  19. Parts supply issues are just as bad as a design flaw when it means the manufacturer is doing wholesale motor swaps. At least Poo finally realizes they cannot let owners deal with trailside melt downs and drag them into dealers for engine replacements so they have that going for them. Overall they are making strides but need to do better even if that means tighter control over suppliers and overall quality of product. It's not just motors as they still cannot get drive bearings to last more than a few hundred miles but that keeps ranger rick flush with cash so good for him I guess.
  20. Don't they have to pay people just to get rid of land in AK?
  21. Imagine how fucking fast it would be if you machined everything out of balsa wood.
  22. Another stellar thread from the forum dipshit. A less than totally clear video posted up by a dealer that states he sold 2X the number of snow checks that he ever has at a time when manufacturers of any product are experiencing material shortages and shipping issues. This particular dealer does say that none of his record number of customer sales will be delivered in February which I am not sure why he would even say that because this shit is possibly changing daily and he may have to eat his words. Record sales and product shortages. Anyone other than dumb fuck MC surprised by this?
  23. Your posts all seem like cries for help. Point to where those bad men abused you. It's the first step in recovery....
  24. You really should get some counseling for what those bad, bad men did to you in prison.
