  1. I really lol at this Ricky quote. " we went to NASA to find out what to use" He was talking about his plastic A-arm bushings.
  2. Really this has nothing to do with quality, oversight by an employee that's it.
  3. The North Shore MN for sure, but we have a cabin north of Two Harbors so that's easy no brainer. No dates set ,it's snow dependent.
  4. I do think you're correct on a cold seizure. The previous day before I noticed it wasn't right,I got it stuck, riding off trail by myself. I took my time digging it out, when I figured I was ready to roll , I started it up and hammered the throttle to get out and I remember now that I didn't even look at the temperature before I beat the shit out of it getting back to road.
  5. No matching exhaust valve marks. The piston damage is in between the main exhaust port and the sub exhaust ports. Never got hot, I keep a close eye on the temps. The top of the pistons have a raised ridge center of the exhaust port, tugged upward . So yes ,it got hot some how, but not from high coolant temps.
  6. Not sure what the grooves are for, they are only on the thrust side of the piston. I was more concerned about the vertical grooves that aren't supposed to be be there.
  7. I decided to go and look around you never know, I will most likely find something I don't really need but will buy it anyway. Plus it's a 20 minute drive for me.
  8. I pulled the engine out my 2016 800. It was down on power last February so I parked it. Last weekend I finally got a chance to work on it, needs pistons for sure and I should pull the bottom end apart and check that also.
  9. I see a lot of SxS running around my neighborhood in MN , lot of the local people have radial car tires on them and a big tool box in the back that's just a cooler in disguise. I asked one of them how do those tires work for off road use, he said why would I want to do that, I figured off roading would really get his LED lights dirty Lol
  10. The $6500.00 includes being picked up in a Taliban controlled area, ride to the airport, to board a chartered fight home. What's the normal going rate for that type of service?
  11. I loved the old 60's muscle cars, I had a 69 Camaro , nothing special, just an original 6 cylinder car that we swapped in a 350 and powerglide trans. Fun car . As I have aged my intrest in owning fast cars has decreased , now just an old Saturday cruiser works for me. I acquired this clean 63 T bird a few years ago. The heater and AC were not working, so the plan was to get the climate comforts working, but that just seemed to escalate into more work, pulled the engine and trans for a refreshing, but the engine compartment was in rough shape, greasy old and dirty. A little paint really cleans things up. Lol
  12. Is it raining up there yet? I know the little bit of rain won't put the fires out , but it should knock the smoke haze down for a while.
  13. The fire spread to west side of highway 2 this afternoon, headed toward sand lake. I still think your place will be fine.
  14. 1. Food and water and supplies. 2. Bug out location along with 2 backup locations. 3. Cross bows for the first line of defense, they don't give up your location. Go to guns if your back is against the wall. 4. Eat the last bit of icecream you have, the local DQs won't survive.
  15. Let's hope that they soon figure out that most of these people are not worth maintaining
  16. 72 skidoo 335 , motor was rebuilt by previous owner and not correct. The flywheel was loose and wore out the crank key way, and a circlip fell out of the piston, the wrist pin was trying to cut a new transfer port in the cylinder. It was at night when it siezed up. I remember thinking if the motor died why is the headlight still on, but when I opened the hood I seen the the muffer was white hot glowing. The motor was a mess of junk when I tore it down.
  17. I remember drooling over the Chaparrals when I was a kid. I think they were the only dealer the town, might have been associated with the feed mill, the store was across the tracks from the old mill. I still buy my sleds from a local hardware store in my area.
