Platinum Contributing Member Highmark Posted February 6, 2019 Platinum Contributing Member Share Posted February 6, 2019 (edited) Got to love Cuomo complaining about the Trump tax plan then saying you can't tax the rich any more. Claiming the loss of $12,000 in deductions is making the wealthy leave the state. Of course it has nothing to do with the 14% TMR in its state. You can't make this shit up if you try. “This is the flip side. Tax the rich, tax the rich, tax the rich. The rich leave, and now what do you do?” — -Andrew Cuomo Edited February 6, 2019 by Highmark
Angry ginger
no doubt the states need to watch their tax burden but it's not like all of a sudden because of trump they are doing this people have ducked out of high tax state when given the opportunity, hell NH banks on that happening.
Platinum Contributing Member Rigid1 Posted February 6, 2019 Platinum Contributing Member Share Posted February 6, 2019 One of the big problems with NYS is the pensions and the people that get these high paid pensions retire and then leave the state,, So NYS is paying them huge money for decades and that money is being spent in Arizona, Florida, ect..Mean while the people coming to the state just want NY's lavish state funded freebies... Obviously this isnt going to work.. Check out these pensions the NYC fire dept and teachers get.. Crazy money!! https://www.seethroughny.net/pensions

Remember a few years ago when NY state was running tons of national ads saying come to NY and we will give you a tax break for a little bit. States shouldn't have to give tax breaks to attract business or people.

States shouldn't have to give tax breaks to attract business or people. they did, the problem is that there were some strict rules to qualify.. One being your new business had to be within like 3 miles of a University to receive a 3 year tax break .. Property in those areas is not easy to come by and if it is, youre paying triple for it rather than if it was in the burbs..And after 3 years your next year was taxed so frigging high, you would pull out.. NYC just kills the rest of the state Edited February 6, 2019 by Rigid1

Isnt that frigging crazy though?! 230k a year for a retired teacher.. Notice big difference between NYC and NYS employees..
