I think you're misunderstanding the question.

no pretty clear

Is the threat of starvation required for human progress?

No one will take a job that pays less than guillotine insurance. Can you blame them?

so no hunger no progress pretty cut and dry I would say

do you think if the checks stopped they would just sit in the yard and starve to death ? or do you thek they may just plant a garden and go hunting ? or I know get a job to barter for food ?

Do you think that maybe people can be motivated by other things besides hunger? IE - self improvement, mastery of a subject, cooperation with others? And that these other motivating factors would lead to better conditions for all?

My point is that 'work or starve' is useful in survival situations, but actually counterproductive in a post scarcity world.

We need a higher calling than an empty stomach to truly progress as a species.

no it has been proven over and over and over and over that there are many willing to suck of the work and progress of others . if some can find a way to eat off the sweat of others they will . if that option is not there they will get out and find there way around a garden or die. ether way society is better off

This laziness is an intended side effect of the antiprogress agenda of capitalism.

Post scarcity capitalism needs those who still buy into the phony scarcity needed to maintain capitalism.

Once we understand that we produce enough to meet everyone's needs, the basic premise of capitalism - artificial scarcity - evaporates.

The capitalist drive to eliminate human labor inputs from the production process will eventually lead to an even larger welfare state than we currently have now. That's why you're seeing capitalists talking about a universal basic income. They see it coming.

The pilgrims would have starved to death if it weren't for help from the natives.

I don't see how this applies at all to the subject.

Pose a stupid question on another site, get riddled top to bottom.

Go to other site, pose question, expect different result.

look it up . your history books in public school did not give you the whole story  and I can guarantee your pro socialist sites will not talk about how the original society the pilgrims put in place was set up

Why don't you save me some time and explain what you mean instead of saying 'look it up' and punching out?
