Vintage sled collection on Hansen's Auction

Recommended Posts

Wow.  The merc Sno-Twister's had my interest but I'll just be an observer for them.  The 250 ST which is the rarest is already at $2950 and the 340 ST is at $1850.  Auction doesn't end until Janaury 23.

I'd like to hear the back story why that SSR is worth north of 50K

Yes that is crazy amount.  The back story better be impressive for that sled.

Back in the late 80's a guy had one locally and ran radar runs with it.  That sled came by way of Donahue motor sports in Wisconsin Rapids Wisconsin but not sure where they got it.  May have been Bobby Donahue's sled or his connection with Yamaha

I saw at least one Yamaha City (name prior to Donahue Super Sports) sticker on one of the Yami's. Could be the same sled?

Who's collection is this, you central WI guys gotta know?

A guy in our snowmobile club has an SSR sitting in his garage. I've known the guy for years and only found out a month ago.

I remember some guy was advertising one for sale about 20 years ago. It was still in its original shipping crate and he was asking $10k.

Auction is closed and some of the prices were crazy.  Couple guys I know went to the public viewing and thought it was strange most of the high end sleds were off limits for the public viewing.  Guy claimed he did alot of the restorations but didn't see any real work area where any work would have been done and the guy was lite on mechanical aptitude.  Somethings they thought seemed off.
