Agreed.  Until the public demands true campaign finance reform and term limits, expect the toadies in the media to continue to divide us, while enriching themselves and their corporate masters.

the public is fairly ignorant, willfully in fact.  they don't seem to honestly care to be bothered with such concerns

Ask 10 random people if they know what Citizens United is all about…you’ll go 0 for 10.😳

also @Steve753, you can buy a lot more house where we live than other parts of wisco by a long shot.  two of my neighbors pay slightly over $20K in property taxes each, but those are $1m assessed value homes.  the one house was purchased a few years ago by a doctor and family that moved here from Cali, he said the house was cheap but the taxes are the same as the multi million dollar home he sold.  my brother who lives in Rhode island has a small $200k+ home that's a $100k home here.  that's what happens when there's so many rats on a ship.

East Coast is where the money is . Gotta pay to play.

Huh?

To get out of debt we need to quit spending. Everyone that cares about debt agrees to that. What they dont want is the spending on shit they want.

Between my 2 comments that should splain it. If not , let me know. Ill try drawing a picture.

We're always going to spend, it's being practical and logical about that spending that's crucial.  all new spending should go under the microscope and be voted for independent of other enormous packages where the career politicians slide the pork between the layers of bread.  we have to spend to at the minimum maintain what we already have... most importantly I want 'them' to show us their plans to pay for what they've already spent and how they plan to pay for any future spending.  same rules apply to my city, state and federal spending.

Would any of us here run our household or business finances the way government does?  I highly doubt it.  ;)

What is wrong with the progressive tax rates of the 1950’s?  Corporations and American Oligarchs gut-hooked morons on Trickled-on economics which have 40 years of history proving the theory is a disaster.

The Decade of Prosperity

The economy overall grew by 37% during the 1950s and unemployment remained low, about 4.5%. At the end of the decade, the median American family had 30% more purchasing power than at the beginning. Inflation was minimal, in part because of Eisenhower's efforts to balance the federal budget.

in fairness this country was an ass kicking industrial machine from the late 40's through the 60's because WW2 wasn't fought here.  we had all the might and the money.

Warren pays a far lower rate than Debbie does.

No one here is important enough to worry about or do anything about the spending in Washington.  But we all have the ability to change our local school boards, village boards, or town boards.  How many have even thought about running for any of those positions so that you know what goes on at that level.  It is pretty easy to say things like "responsible spending" but try doing it at a local level and see how long you last in that position.

All you will have is people like snowbeavis complaining about

Education spending should be more.

Or their roads are shitty,

Or my road hasn't been plowed.

You name it, everyone talks a good game, but no one has the fortitude to do it.

Corporations and American Oligarchs have lobbied and bought the court system to their advantage and at our expense.  A progressive tax code similar to what was posted above is best for this country and the middle class.  I’m always amazed how Oligarchs and corporations can get minions to do their bidding.

Try telling a constituent that you passed on a 100K grant from the state government.  They don't care that you had to spend 3 times that amount to get that money, only that you voted against it and lost that 100K

You should run on the “fuck plowing the roads platform” sounds like a winner.😂

So is yours.

I am coming up with ideas, rather than just talking points about CORPORATIONS and CITIZENS UNITED.

None of your local politicians are going to change that, but they will effect your local taxes.

And what exactly is the "fuck plowing roads" platform that you are talking about?  You get caught up with snowbeavis going off the rails now that he is back.  Before he was back, you actually started to list a few things I agreed with, but the pack mentality you get when he comes around is annoying.

last time something similar was brought up... He and it didn't get far.

Yet verbiage to the contrary, the Washington political class has been quite happy with the current system because its huge source of power. Bestowing favors via deductions and credits (or preserving existing ones) is an intoxicating exercise and an enormous source of contributions and vote-buying opportunities. The two socialists (one open, the other more or less in the closet) vying for the Democratic presidential nomination want to use the tax code to wage class warfare and to punish such “politically undesirable” interests as extractors of fossil fuels and the corporations that want to change their headquarters’ mailing addresses to tax-friendlier countries.

No pack mentality and I’m simply using your words…you may have agreed with some of my posts (unbeknownst to me) but I think most of what you post is inane drivel.

I give examples and you have trouble understanding them.  Exactly the type of voter I am talking about.  Can't understand even the simplest of concepts yet want to try and tell people about it, right?
