Of the 3 people I know that bought the ecoboosts, one was a 2.7 and the other 2 where 3.5's.

The two 3.5's had there engines replaced at around 100k and the 2.7 is over 100k and still going strong, just uses a lot of oil

He got it back and now there's an oil leak at the rear of the motor. I've come across several overlanders with either vans or trucks with the 3.5 that have had similar issues. Timing chains and oil leaks. 

Sounds like a real gem of a motor.

Nice power, but I'll stick with 3.7 naturally aspirated. 

Can't say anything about longevity.

But. had a 2020 F150 2.8 eco bost 

for a week at work.  Ballsy truck , getting 23 - 24 mpg over the road.
