It’s useful to maybe 20% of the sled market. You need private landowners in many places to ok access. It seems this year everyone in Maine thinks they can go off trails with their sleds. That’s led to problems from landowners.

Light weight factory 2 stroke turbo for sea level

to much of a pita to have to haul around race gas and most people are to cheep to be buying all that race gas any way .

if they could make it run reliably  with 91 at sea they would have had a tune in it already

You think there is some.magic difference between sea level and altitude?

Take a little compression and some timing out of the map and you could run 200hp on pump gas all day with an 850 at sea level.

You might not have a full grasp of how forced induction works. Race gas isn't always a requirement.

The real problem with 2stroke turbos for the masses is EPA compliance. They have to run down in the 11:1 range afr at wfo and the 2 stroke are probably pretty dirty there.

Yep. And snowmobilers will shit on the sport if the manufacturers start putting catalytic converters on their 2 strokes.

I would bet skidoo could make the etec compliant as a turbo. With DI and extremely precise fuel and timing control they could run a bit leaner but Engine quality control would have to be tight.

Im sure they could too. This is just the beginning of factory turbo 2 strokes.

to make a boosted 2 st worth the time and expence it sort of is .

yeah you can lower compression and run low boost but would the performance be what a guy who just spent 5 more g on over the same NA be content with ? prob not

western sales are more and more important every year to these companies.  #1 individual model sold last year was the RMK 163 according to polaris.
