I believe people and their theories when they make a prediction and then it comes true.

So basically....

Science - 164883094

Bible - 0

You realize that when the bible was written the science was settled that the earth is flat and leaching was considered a legitimate medical practice right?

Yeah.........no.

Quote

Eratosthenes of Cyrene (/ɛrəˈtɒsθənz/; Greek: Ἐρατοσθένης ὁ Κυρηναῖος, romanizedEratosthénēs ho Kurēnaĩos, IPA: [eratostʰénɛːs]; c. 276 BC[note 1] – c. 195/194 BC)[note 2] was a Greek polymath: a mathematician, geographer, poet, astronomer, and music theorist. He was a man of learning, becoming the chief librarian at the Library of Alexandria. His work is comparable to what is now known as the study of geography, and he introduced some of the terminology still used today.[1]

He is best known for being the first person to calculate the circumference of the Earth, which he did by comparing angles of the mid-day Sun at two places, a known North-South distance apart.[2] His calculation was remarkably accurate. He was also the first to calculate the tilt of the Earth's axis, again with remarkable accuracy.[3] Additionally, he may have accurately calculated the distance from the Earth to the Sun and invented the leap day.[4] He created the first global projection of the world, incorporating parallels and meridians based on the available geographic knowledge of his era.

Yup....but science proved those things incorrect and has bettered the understanding of earth and headaches over time

If religion had it's way we'd still be bleeding people and thinking the earth was flat

I believe it was written during pre-leaching times. I might be wrong

It's a myth that the consensus was that the Earth was flat. That was not a view held by educated people.

Saucer shaped. That explains the slight, observable curvature while looking down from a mountain top

Probably 75% of the contents of the bible was written before he was born. Nice try scrappy.

Post something that supports the notion that the consensus was a flat Earth.

No it wouldn’t you idiot.

Fundamentalists are the lowest IQ levels of Christians  and thankfully count for a very small percentage of believers throughout the world , although a concerningly large percentage in the epicentre of stupidity, America.

Ahhh.....they were burning witches at the stake just 500 years ago.

Their largest Church is filled with homosexual pedophiles because their dogma refuses to let priests marry

All religions are filled with overt ignorance.

Why? Your link directly contradicts what you said.

Feel free to play the Daive card to save face if you so wish.

No it doesn't. It says he was the first to calculate it. That doesn't mean the consensus was that it was flat.

Well if we use the same measure of Christian Fundamentalism that people here use for Muslim Extremism then it's a shit ton of Christians.

I already said it’s a disturbingly large percentage in the US. Far more so than the rest of the western world.

It’s the quiet, peaceful appearing Muslims that’ll fuck your shit up. The radicals too. Most dangerous. And then there’s the middle of the road Muslims. God damn human killing machines. They all stink too.

I'm saying if you want to have a discussion about that then you need to make a point. If you're going to say(as many anti-vaxxers do) that "Mercury bad!" then no scientist is going to entertain the conversation.

You’ve missed my point. If you’re going to say “Mercury good” then no concerned person is going to entertain the conversation.

Well, nice fucking thead you boys have got going here.

You've got me convinced!!!  :lmao:

Science is real. Science can be used to deceive. Both are facts. Following some of it blindly is also a fact. Anybody bothered by that should rethink their approach to it.

When the “aliens” come, go ahead and trust the narrative put out there by proven liars. Or don’t.
