No doubt some non rich want to control other's lives. They just don't have the ability to do so, but the rich do.

The non-rich do, just to a lesser extent. To say they don't is to completely discount the power of the vote. 

Almost every bad mark on American history has the majority of people behind it at some point. People want to pretend that wasn't the case.

Well, that's exactly what I'm doing. 

Nothing gets done, no Bill gets passed in the federal government without the blessing of the rich. American democracy is an illusion.
