Been playing a lot on news around here.

Talk of G M wanting to sue, saying it is false. They claim every last dollar was paid back.

Had the CEO on last night, claiming they are merely trying to stay profitable.

Yeah, they are just treading water currently. :lol:Greedy Motors is a perfect name for them!

Translation: the union has us by the short hairs and we’d build every one in Mexico if we could.

Exactly!

Tier One suppliers are starting to cut more and more heads in the Auto Industry. It's starting to get the doom and gloom feeling again. That part of the cycle

A big cleansing here yesterday at GM Oshawa. Because they didn't get the numbers they were hoping for, GM seen to it they got them yesterday. My wife said security was unbelievable. Many weren't allowed in their offices, had strict routes/access points only and had to ask permission basically to go to the washroom. I guess GM figured there would be a few who would go postal. Security/Management walked into the plant and handed out letters to those supervisor's who work the lines, look after assembly workers. Once the letters were handed out the supervisor's were escorted off site and all their access cards, keys, parking passes, etc, were removed at the same time.

This went on for most of the morning with many supervisor's, who were watching the proceedings, wondering if they were next? My wife said the whole process was demeaning and degrading as some of these supervisor's had been working at GM for years and years and always did a good job. She is a contract worker so it didn't affect her but seeing how these people were being treated was absolutely disgusting to her and many others.

They made 6billion last year. Fuck gm!

Although we purchased our Impala about 18 months ago or way before the GM announcement of the shuttering of the Oshawa plant, all the B.S. GM is currently pulling is making me want to get rid of it.

I've said it before that I'll never own another GM truck after my last pile but that has now carried over to anything GM built. Fuck GM is right!

They should run a commercial though stating which products are Mexico and from all manufactures....  cause somebody may watch this commercial and forgo a US/Canada assembled Silverado and buy a Mexican made Ram

Other than the crew cab 1/2 ton variation, I’m pretty sure all silverados are made in the US. :dunno:

In the end it’s just a job. People feel slighted because they worked there for x amount of years. They don’t gaf about you. If you thought they did you’re fooling yourself.

Unfortunately that's true.

Times certainly have changed, that is for sure. Gone are the days where if you were a model employee, a hard, dedicated worker, you would be treated as such. I know there are a fair number of employees who abuse the system, abuse their sick leave, etc, etc, so it's unfortunate everyone gets painted with the same brush.

My wife said the way the supervisor's/managers were treated yesterday was nothing above how they treat a chronic abuser. No sympathy, nothing, out the door you go, see ya, sayonara.

I learned something exactly like this not long  myself. Retirement this coming July after 36 yrs of service and my exit plan certainly isn't going to be how I hoped it to be. Too many arrogant, notitalls running the asylum now so it was time to leave.
