Will you step in and help your Allie or not?

I'm not sure who this girl Allie is but would you help this ally?

IMHO stay the fuck out of it.   Let the EU pull energy deals away from Russia to make them play ball.   Bet they don't have the balls to do a thing but bitch on the world stage.

Let Putin run rampant over Europe for all I care.   Does us no good in the hearts or minds of the people in Europe what we've done there since WW2.   Fuck them.

They can build their army now.

Does Ukraine not have a single other ally? Why is it the US that has to spend blood and treasure every single time.

Some would say part of the reason is because of the deal William Jefferson Clinton made with them when they gave up their nukes.

Well that was really fucking dumb of them. They should actively seek nuclear weapons again.

So in other words..... What the US sacrificed in WW2, (only after they were attacked on Hawaii, because they stayed out of it until then)  should never be forgotten.  However, the sacrifices of European countries made in Afghanistan and Iraq mean nothing.

Indeed. Why were they stupid enough to trust the USA?

Perhaps the USA should give them some nukes in exchange for ignoring that guarantee of protection.

No it means we've spent trillions protecting Europe from the red army SINCE WW2.   Yeah I realize that it was done so Germany or fascism wouldn't take millions and millions of lives again but its time they stand on their own.

Gotta give you credit.  Whatever part you had in helping England and Canada teach Germany a lesson, it worked.

German's are now more like the American ideal than the USA is.

Who would have guessed that a German Chancellor would be a far better humanitarian than the President of the USA?

While our part was larger than yours or England's both pale in comparison to Russia.  The only reason the all of Europe (except maybe GB) isn't red is because we got involved.   Yes you can thank the Japanese for that.

Keep in mind even Mother Russia would have struggled without US manufacturing.   They received over 7000 aircraft, 4000 tanks and 830,000 trucks.

Without US. telephones and water-proof cables Soviet troops would have tremendous difficulties communicating with each other and coordinating military actions. To the Soviet Union, US trucks and telephones were probably more valuable than US Sherman tanks because the Shermans had too high a profile and so could easily be hit. Therefore, the Soviets tended to use the Shermans for training purpose rather than in combat (also because Sherman engines ran for a lot longer than T-34 engines).

Those of you having read this far should be like: "Yeah yeah yeah, that's all great for the Soviet Union. But this question doesn't ask about the Soviets, it's about all countries, and the value of the stuff in 1940s dollar and modern day dollar".

Well, as you wish:

(It turns out the the country received the most Lend-Lease Aid was Britain, not the USSR).

The total value of Lend-Lease from the US to all countries was about $51 billionin 1940s money. In terms of today's money, it's close to $1 trillion (assuming a 4.5% annual inflation rate over 70 years).

The "Other Expenditures" category in the table refers to materials not charged to the recipient nations, including items consumed by U.S. forces, administrative costs, goods lost in shipment, for instance: about 5,000 tanks, 7,000 aircraft and over 200,000 tons of other war materials were lost at sea in the holds of ships trying to reach Soviet ports in the far north of Russia, near the Arctic Circle. More tanks and aircraft were lost near the Arctic Circle than in any single tank or air battle in WW2 or in the history of warfare.
