Wtf? Every weapon system I've ever heard of has nicknames or names other than the standard nomenclature. Middle eastern folk like to name shit after biblical stuff. Not sure why. It sounds scary to them I guess. Americans name it funny stuff. I think this system is actually of Israeli design so, this may be it's actual name. It’s the generic name given to old Soviet POS missiles with dated or almost disfunctional directional systems. “Scud” came from some old meteorological shit like “fast moving, straight line over or under clouds” or some shit like that.
