Gold Member BOHICA Posted May 19, 2018 Gold Member Share Posted May 19, 2018 (edited) So ford has the ecoboost.... so in a “hold my beer and watch this” moment gm puts a 4 banger in a full size pickup in response to not being able to match the ecoboost. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot
Given the compact cylinder count and the robust power density, we can’t help but think where this 2.7L engine should go next. Carlos Danger
It is almost identical in stats to the small v6 ecoboost.

The 2.3 4 banger ford eco I think is like 310hp and 350 ftlbs in mild form. The 2.7 ford ecoboost far surpasses gm’s new 2.7 ecoboost. At 1500 rpm it is prolly around 50 hp though... it doesn’t make its hp until 4000 rpm later.... these new rinky dinky diesel half tons prolly make at least that much torque or more at 1500 rpm but are not great truck engines. i wouldnt be suprised if ford’s little 2.7 ford would make that torque at that rpm cause it’s peak torque is much more total Edited May 19, 2018 by BOHICA

Anler
Gm engines last about 4x longer than Ford's. And when it comes to performance gm ls engines are the one of choice.
