The fact of the matter is some stuff is just made better elsewhere and is well worth the price difference. The Europeans for example have niches in certain markets and have little to no competition, sure there may be American offerings, but the original price difference has little bearing on final decisions. Overall cost of ownership say over a 20 year period is what drives decisions.
