  1. of course we are, we are a great country not that we would know it by the posts here
  2. lol ya there is more creditable source than THE WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM well go find it if Canada failing means that much too you. I doubt there is anything even close to what these people put together. This is how they get the results - http://www.usnews.com/news/best-countries/articles/methodology 2015 we were 8th
  3. Its Donald's call and JT said if donny wants to we will look at improving it. Not sure what you expect him to say during their elections. Really agreements shouldn't be forever in these cases, they will always need tweaking. We are an asset to USA and they know it, I hope we get a better deal this time
  4. so like said earlier the low dollar is good for a few and not the masses, thanks 0tool I didn't know that
  5. Well we all knew Harper lied about the deficit and Trudeau would spend more than he said he would. That aside I am not for the Carbon Tax in anyway or shape as its being sold right now. A PM is nothing more than our face world wide, they travel and meet people, totally normal. All in all the FEDs don't help or hurt the average guy compared to the Provinces where the real damage or greatness can happen. World Wide Trudeau is very well accepted whether you want to believe that or not is up to you but its fact. JT's real test will be with Trump if he wants to open NAFTA up - I think USA fared better in the first deal let see if that continues. Either way it will be interesting to see the outcome and then judge JT on his abilities
  6. and less for our Beer, the list goes on and on but than again they are the top of the food chain Leafs vs Nashville is more important right now
  7. no that is why I said I don't put anything into this but you guys and your doom and gloom over Trudeau is funny so I poke the bear
  8. okay you are out of the conversation - it was stated that a low dollar creates more profit so like I said and you agreed the average guys gets nothing but higher costs you are still out of the convo bye bye
  9. no doubt there, but than again we pay much more for our cars - see the trade off
  10. Okay here is the direct link to World Economic Forum - from 8th to 2nd https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2016/01/the-world-s-best-country-clue-it-s-not-a-nordic-nation/
  11. all of the above and more - lol I don't put anything in to these stupid surveys but its was fun to post The list is a joint venture between the WEF, U.S. News, and the University of Pennsylvania. http://dailyhive.com/vancouver/canada-best-country-in-the-world/
  12. but there are way more of these jobs then in trees like I said these guys are not benefiting from a low dollar. What is wrong with 90cents (if we could get it there again) Do you think the USA will stop buying our Trees? not likely
  13. There are masses of buildings in Toronto filled with people making 6 or 7 figures and they are all not in the export business. Look Trade is good and our resources are plentiful they will always sell no matter what happens. We are not exporting zippers or really any product like that, its all resources in the big picture. So lets stop thinking a low dollar is good for all. I will say we dont see much difference in the retail but off shore we sure do for everything.
  14. if you are willing to not post like a little girl you can continue to be involved As a matter of fact wages do go down for people in those industries because profit targets don't change. I see no reason why you should take home less because trees cost more
  15. lower for the foreign buyer not the citizen - there lies the problem China can make cheap stuff for many more reasons then the Yuan low, billion people willing to work for nothing helps lol
  16. I was talking about a business owner as they pay more for tools and supplies - point is they don't export anything if anything they import
  17. I would go for that if wages went up when dollar goes down but they don't, so profits are not for the masses and either is a low dollar. AS soon as the dollar goes down prices go up across the board but don't go down when the dollar is high USA on the other hand enjoy a high dollar and low prices as you buy our products cheap I understand the idea of better trade - same for the consumer being able to buy more with the same amount of money, this benefits everyone too. 90 cent dollar for us works well IMO while others think the more government destroys the value of our dollar the better they are
  18. Top Countries 2016 Germany Canada United Kingdom United States of America Sweden Australia Japan France Netherlands Denmark New Zealand Austria Italy Luxembourg Singapore Spain China Ireland South Korea Brazil Thailand India Portugal Russia Israel Go Trudeau
  19. most don't work in the export business - lets use a Plumbing business, reno business, lawn care business, taxi business all pay more with low dollar
  20. wages don't and consumed products go up too - if only it worked for all instead of very few
  21. interesting dollar 0.97 his survey of public companies shows that most Canadian companies achieved generally positive results in the fourth quarter, particularly when compared to 2012 performance. For example, the net earnings of nine selected Canadian western-based companies increased from $10.6 million in the fourth quarter of 2012, to $48.3 million in Q4 2013. The net earnings of four eastern-based companies went from red to black, improving from a loss of $57.6 million in the fourth quarter of 2012 to earnings of $7.9 million in the fourth quarter of 2013. I think the shit kicking you refer too was due to lack of buying from a troubled USA market from the crash. Could they make more profit with USA as dollar drops? sure. plenty of profits were made in the years of high dollar - slug what is wrong with say a 90c dollar? You realize as the dollar drops many of our products go up in price (and doesn't work the opposite way)
  22. same goes for everyone here Can you point out who was hurting from the higher dollar we had? certainly not you or slug so who was it?
  23. by who? certainly not the population of ONtario
  24. well I am going to say 90% of the country doesn't export but rather are just consumers - 85c-90c would be much better but keep thinking of yourself
