    Snowflakes

You're a legend in your own mind, aren't you, 02? And for someone who never had kids, you actually think, which isn't surprising, that you know what is going on with kids lives this day and age and the society the face today, and everything else for that matter. Tell me, and tell the truth now, has anyone outside of this site ever told you, you like to hear yourself talk, especially about things you know zero about?
  2. Will I lose anything if I attempt that? The site owner informed me today that he has been using Viglink for 5 yrs now. Said it is an income provider for him. Not sure why he waited until today, but that was good to know as I feel a lot less worried/concerned that something serious is going on with my computer. He did say something is going on, obviously, and said I shouldn't be seeing that pop up like I do. He said it runs behind the scenes so to speak. Thanks guys.

    Winter 2017

Simply nuts, but I can understand why my Father still gets offers over $15,000 for his 96 F250 with the 7.3.
  4. I just finished installing Opera as another browser and the problem doesn't exist? What exactly does this mean? Is my Google Chrome corrupted, should I do a reset, scan, or something else? I'd like to continue using Chrome, if possible, as all my saved/imports/favorites from IE are there, like this site and many other direct links to other sites and info. Thanks again, AC.
  5. I might have to try that as I am not having any luck at all. It's funny, I can open other links in that site without a problem, but if I open an E-Bay link, I get the Viglink every time. I blocked it in the sites cookies and can get it to work temporarily but it comes right back if I log out. I type in viglink in another engine and found where I could disable it, but again, as soon as I close it, it comes back. I am trying to work with the sites tech so hopefully we can figure something out? Never created one and I uploaded some Avast updates after the fact and I see those when I go to restore. I am also losing my faith in Avast. Too many problems with their protection, lagging, incomplete scans, etc. Not sure who to use other than avast, but it's something I have to look into. I wrote yesterday morning and haven't received a word from them!
  6. When you open the site in question, at the top left, in the tool bar header, it reads "site not secure" I clicked on the little round icon beside that and that opens up some info, namely cookies. In there, I found the Viglink cookie so I blocked it. I then tried the same e-bay link from yesterday and I still get the viglink home page instead of the e-bay listing? Needless to say, I think the problem is with that site specifically? I have contacted the site owner and let him know but I know he is not tech savvy and has someone else look after the site. A host? I haven't heard back from him but I assume I will and I assume he'll look into it. He was recently having issues so I can't help but think this is when it was added or this is part of his problem? Do you know anything about Viglink or have dealt with it before? It is difficult to remove from what I am gathering. Thanks for your help!
  7. Thanks. I believe I have seen them before actually. http://www.sears.com/craftsman-impact-driver/p-00947641000P?plpSellerId=Sears&prdNo=2&blockNo=2&blockType=G2#Imagezoom
  8. Thanks, I'll be sure to check one of those out.
  9. Thanks. Nothing looks out of the ordinary, and the only thing new is Malwarebytes, which I downloaded/installed yesterday to try and fix this problem. The only other thing that shows a current/new date is, Teamviewer 11. I really don't know what that is but it was already installed when I purchased this new computer last year. The site I am referring to is a memorabilia forum. I copied a e-bay link I got from pwcc, which is a auction site/house that uses e-bay as a link/store to sell memorabilia. I went directly to their site for the posting instead of going directly to e-bay and that is when I noticed the pop up/ad for Viglink. I now get the Viglink screen every time I open a e-bay link on that memorabilia forum (net54baseball) but others see the e-bay posting no problem at all.
  10. I appreciate your help but you need to be more specific, AC. Where do I type "uninstall" and how do I check my browser? I found some info where I was suppose to see it in my "extensions" but all it shows is my Avast programs? http://sensorstechforum.com/remove-prosperent-com-marketing-ads-completely/ Could it be possible I only see the Viglink ad on that other site? I wanted to post a link here and try it but I don't want to possibly cause any further problems? I did try it in my e-mail and the link opened no problem.
  11. X2. I have always, on bolts/screws that I knew would be a pain, gave a tap with a hammer on the end of my screwdriver/ratchet just to jar them loose. It definitely helps but doesn't always guarantee success. That tool looks like it would work most of the time for sure. Thanks for posting.
  12. Yesterday, on another site, I copied and past an E-Bay link and when I went to open it I received/seen a Viglink ad/page instead. I have tried everything within my ability to remove it but have had zero success. I can hit de-link/opt out in the ad but if you log out, clear cookies, etc, it will open up the next time you log in. I researched it to find out what it was and came up with this. Seems it has been around for a while and is used to help generate further revenue for sites. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VigLink If any of you computer guys know how to get rid of it, I am all ears! I have Windows 10, have Avast, Ccleaner, downloaded Malwarebytes yesterday, but nothing seems to work. I even did a boot scan but had no success. Thanks in advance.
  13. Way different than here! Any kid who wants to play can play when it comes to H/L and C/L. The only competition, whether someone gets cut or not, is Rep and Select hockey. If a kid shows up with the proper equipment and his parents have paid, then he is guaranteed to play, and he will also get equal ice time, or lose to it. I agree on the equipment part as well. Tons of used to be had here but it seems a lot of parents/people don't realize that and just look at the cost of new and the cost of hockey they see on T.V. and then say it's too expensive for them. Like I mentioned, unfortunately not everyone can afford it, but I bet more could if they knew there was a different side to compared to what they see and hear in the media. I took my son to stick and puck, public skating, hockey camps, or anything he wanted to participate in. He loved it and was good, but unfortunately, with school, girlfriends and his best buddy who absolutely hated hockey after being forced to play it, AAA, and skating, even on his PA days, my son also began to think the same way, unfortunately. He will soon be 16 and I honestly I don't think he will play next year, which will be unfortunate, but I am hoping, with no spring hockey this year (4 on 4) he will be missing it come next Sept/Oct. Congrats on your Daughters ex, that took some serious dedication and skill to get drafted.
  14. I like the sounds of that, but not sure if that would happen as that would likely take away T.V. revenue, memorabilia, etc, away from the NHL so they will do everything they can in their power to see that it doesn't happen, imo. Tavares getting hurt the last time didn't help matters in this decision either. Personally, I disappointed in the whole decision, especially for the players. Talk is cheap but I wonder if Ovi will stick to his guns and play? Hockey is more affordable than they portray in the news or in print. Whenever I have watched T.V. or read an article, the numbers they use all come from the Rep level of play. House/Church League is about a 1/4 or 3rd, depending what level you are comparing it to, than Rep hockey. My son played H/L this year for around $500 bucks compared to his Rep last year which likely cost us around $3000.00. The thing with Rep, which they also never discuss/talk about in the media, is the amount of ice time and games played. With Rep, the ice time/games played is double that of what H/L is. Ice isn't cheap so when you take that into consideration, Rep really isn't a whole lot more expensive, but I can understand people not being able to afford it.
  15. I purchased this one when my son was 3 back in 2004 for $650 dollars. I don't think the seller knew what it was worth as when I arrived as quickly as possible, he wanted me to hang on as more people were supposedly coming? (I Assume he received many phone calls?) I told him he promised to sell it to me so I paid, loaded it and got out of there. My son rode it for a few years then I sold it for around $1000 I believe? My son ran ours at our park and around our house when the snow wasn't too bad. He got stuck a few times but I told him to jump up and down or move side to side, which he did and got unstuck himself. How time flies! I purchased this 340 for $800 in rough shape. Put about $200 into it and sold it for around $1800, which surprised the hell out of me, but that is what a dealer offered me for it sight unseen. Just my opinion, but with the new 200's coming out, I think getting these prices, depending what the new 200's are worth, will be a thing of the past.
  16. I haven't worked shift in quite a few years, Revrnd, but that does happen due to manpower shortages quite often. Same thing happens quite often for ERO, ERM and operations staff after they have worked a 12 hr shift. Heard about many having to stay later than that due to man to man relieve shortages. It's a real mess after outages when people are being denied their vacations after working outage hours (6 10's, 4 12's plus O.T, week-ends, afternoons, nights) for the last 3 months, and they wonder why sick calls are at an all time high!

    Theft Ring Caught

How long ago was the theft from Outback? I know the owner of Outback and I also know people who store their boats there.
  18. If you only knew. These contractors are not only brought in basically untrained, but for some, it is their first time ever working at a Nuclear Plant. I don't care how good, talented, or skilled you are (those are few and far between nowadays) nothing beats years of experience. But in order to hopefully obtain that experience and keep incidents, accidents at a minimum, they throw more people (contractors) at the jobs, which, of course, costs a lot more money, in hopes that more people doing less work will make fewer mistakes. (hence my comment above).
  19. Like I mentioned in another post/thread, people (the public) get peed at the amount of employees and the cost associated with that amount of employees. Company, from direction of the Gov't lay off/retire said employees and never rehire. The same amount of work still exists but because it is done with fewer employees, and needs to be done, O.T. is made available to the tune of 400 hrs a year (for public sector employees (Gov't restriction) but wide open/unlimited for contractors) so then when an employee makes over a $100 g's, those same people who were bitching about the amount of employees are now bitching again because said employees made over a $100 g's. On top of that, because these positions can't just be forgotten about and not staffed, they hire multiple contractors to do the same job as one or a few did before. The smoke and mirrors part is, the contractors are not public sector employees and therefore don't make the sunshine list but cost the company/Gov't 2-3 times as much as they did with the full time employee.
  20. I hear ya, Trail. First time for me in 34 years, and I am barley over. I worked over 250 hrs of O.T. but it's funny how that is conveniently left out. Today, the Government of Ontario published the Public Sector Salary Disclosure files for all public sector employers, including OPG. The information provided by OPG is on the Ministry of Finance website along with salary disclosure for other sectors such as hospitals, universities and the Ontario Public Service. Each year, there is media coverage around this, and we can expect more this year due to increased attention on hydro prices. Here are some facts to share with neighbours or friends who ask about OPG: · OPG provides about half of the province’s electricity and does so at a cost that’s 40 per cent less than other generators. This allows us to moderate customer bills, and put another way, OPG provides about half the power, but is less than 20 per cent of the average customer’s bill. · OPG is the most complex electricity generator in Canada, operating one of the largest nuclear generation fleets in North America, in one of the most heavily regulated industries in the world. · We have to compete with other large electricity producers and industries outside the sector, which are also seeking access to the small group of highly skilled executives and employees needed to lead and operate our stations in an industry like ours. · We are a very high-tech industry requiring highly skilled and qualified engineers, professionals, scientists and skilled tradespersons. · We need staff to work 24/7, 365 days a year. OPG is required to participate in this annual process under the Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act (PSSDA). In accordance with the Act, OPG must provide an alphabetical listing of all employees whose T4 amounts (including base salary and taxable benefits) met or exceeded $100,000. The Act does not authorize disclosure of the breakdown of specific benefits, such as overtime and shift premiums, which in the case of OPG, are fundamental to our safe and reliable operation on a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week basis.
  21. LOL at the way he unloads it. Anyone think he's mad?
  22. Yep, and she won't raise it because it's a tool that deflects attention away from her, even if it's for a short while. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/sunshine-list-growing-1.4048691 Premier Kathleen Wynne defended the list Thursday, saying it's a matter of "transparency" and that people have a right to know how much Ontario's top earners are taking home. But with so many names, the list is losing its power, according to Daniel Cohn, an associate professor in the School of Public Policy and Administration at York University. "It's going to be a phone book for government employees pretty soon," he told CBC Toronto.

    Possum Stew

I think they are called Opossum's everywhere but New Zealand, at least that is what I was told. We should all be thankful they are around as one of their main diets are Ticks. With those little bastards breeding like crazy lately and the increase in lyme disease, these are a great to have around!
