  1. No loss of power, but it did take 4 hours to clear the driveway. At the rate of a beer an hour, I think I'm owed a couple!! Had an appointment to get my wife new tires for her car and remove the snows, in Peterboro this morning! That didn't happen
  2. call in Dale, and go back to bed!
  3. I see TSC has a Polaris kids ATV on for $619 Today http://www.tscstores.com/CYBERDEALS.aspx
  4. I have a couple of them. They were being saved for the grandkids, but they have no place to store them (city kids) They are Yamaha Moto4's. One is an 80cc and the other is a 100 cc. Both are shaft drive with electric start I will check again to see if they want them, but they have been sitting here for 2 years now, and i'd like them gone. In the pic they are the yellow and blue ones
  5. We did have a number of people leave the feds for the province, but that was mostly for the location, not the pay. I was constantly getting headhunters calling with offers of more $$$ for the same technical services in the private sector. Perhaps it was different for management positions. As a rule I generally declined promotions to management. Tried it once, but couldn't handle the BS, so I left to get back into the handson technical side.
  6. In my experience, (35 years in the IT field, 15 of it with the Feds) I found the remuneration in the public sector was about 20% less than the private sector! However the job security and benefits were better in the public as opposed to the private.

    Helmets?

    answered your own question!
  8. Some good points re borderline and aging sledders. However it would not be feasible to give passes for free, how could you maintain trails? The old cliche that the permit is the cheapest thing about sledding, still hold true!
  9. Spin it how you like (why so defensive?) I'm just stating the local feeling on the place since the rebuild. No offense to you or your friend intended.
  10. Oh he still gets the summer traffic (American fishermen) but the locals are avoiding the place.
  11. we were supposed to stopping by there today on our ride, but the other two guys have wimped out (too chilly or something like that) I'll head out later and possibly make it over to the clubhouse for wing night!
  12. Britts is now the Lakeshore, not great but much better than Rhinos, now!
  13. Sorry 02, I know he is a friend of yours, but since he bought Rhinos the place has gone downhill fast. The old atmosphere is gone since the fire and the new reno is sterile and bland. All the good wait staff have left, and the prices have gone way up and the quality has plummeted. Much like the fish & Chip place he used to own in Cobourg. I used to frequent Rhinos every couple of weeks year round, but have not been there now for over a year.
  14. Just to add some info to this ongoing insanity. Ron Joyce Jr (married to Tim Horton's daughter) Inc owns two Tim Hortons franchises, both located in Cobourg Tim Horton's is owned by the American firm Wendy's, which in turn is owned by the Brazillion investment firm 3G Investments
  15. Rode one last year in Revelstoke. It was a blast, however that was in DEEP powder, like it was designed for. Don't see them catching on out here in flatland country, and especially don't think they are suited for trail riding on private property, way to tempting to go off trail.
  16. LOL no comment! But I could relate! Happy New Year to you too, Dale
  17. Max Webster was the house band at the Gasworks on Yonge St, in the early 70's, when I was a bouncer, there!
  18. Riding some local trails today
  19. No Irv, both are gone Been gone 45 years now, not much chance I'll ever see it again
  20. My father worked with Dave Keon's mother at Eaton's in Toronto. We were invited to their home in '67 for a Stanley Cup party, and the whole Leaf team was there. Bower was my favourite player and I had the opportunity meet and have a lengthy conversion with him at the time. He gave me an autographed photo, and arranged to have the whole team sign a hockey stick for me. Even though I was eighteen at the time, I felt like a little kid. I had that stick and photo on my wall for years, until some bast*rd stole it during a party. That would sure be worth some coin now!~
  21. No ownership! always a bad sign.
