  1. Old guard is gone, has been for what 30 years? Its been what 10-15 years since a stock/factory clutch set up was worth a pinch of shit?
  2. He surely did the screws on the secondary also. He screwed lots, unless you never take the big helix/heavy spring out.
  3. Want to say THANK YOU to all you guys that do this. I have done some in the past but I really do not take it for granite what you guys do for the sport!
  4. Not a fan of Textron. I will say this though. The 2024 RXC 600 is a really nice sled. AND its the best fit n finish I have seen from cat. The clutching sucks as usual, AND the seat is terrible. But overall I really like the looks and feel of the 600 Catalyst. I have always had at least one Cat in the stable(and always will). Been on Cats since 1990, so not a huge sample but fairly large. I remember the pride, die hard guys and the racing/dominance in racing. Going to snowmobile shows with hundreds thousand of people walking around buying sleds/gear, etc. of course picking up the cool cat posters! But I also remember lots more snow AND COLD temps(longer season). This sport is dying no matter what side your on. Temps and average age who rides snowmobiles will eventually kill it or greatly cripple it. Probably after most on here have passed away but eventually its going to transition away for good. The younger gen is not buying sleds or riding them, they are playing video games and spending time on social media. Or they just have the phone in front of the face all day. Very few are spending time (clubs) brushing, posting markers, grooming, wrenching sleds, riding sleds, and or doing much for hobbies outside. What's the average age of hunters/fishermen/snowmobilers? No way any company can make it with JUST sleds. You have to have a dirt side or motorcycles, tractors, etc. UTV is the thing of the future and the "other" 2 manufactures are doing well with other product besides snowmobiles. If a new buyer for CAT does not bring back or enter with a dirt side or bikes, etc. they will not make it. Not a chance.
  5. Some may disagree but when Cat was going well >> they were going well on the track also. Just saying.
  6. Care to share your secondary set up?
  7. Slow death.
  8. That sucks also. Does that have the smaller/newer/sport guage?
  9. WTF? Any more detail or symptoms? I know for a fact mine was pulling timing last year.
  10. Im not 100% sure but guessing they are not the same as the Team. It does not matter if your using the correct size bit and a little heat. The screws are just of very poor quality/spec. They will screw you! I use blue locker on these screws, along with a home made compression bolt/washers/tool that keeps the helix locked down before loosening them. I removed them for the 3rd time since I had clutch and they went right into the garbage. Couple were close to being snafu's . Just for taking the clutch apart yearly for cleaning you will want the T30 screws from BDX.
  11. Another thing I notice on these catalyst is the screws on the secondary clutch. These hold the helix within the clutch. These screws suck! Just installed a 50/46 helix with the venom Green silver secondary spring 155/220. The stock screws are good for maybe 2-3 changes and they get shitty(stripped). I found these that are a much needed upgrade. T 30. Put these in,,, you will thank me later. http://www.bd-xtreme.com/index.php?id_product=1573&controller=product If your planning on taking your secondary apart yearly(cleaning) or to try different helixes these are a must IMO.
  12. Going to try this belt this year. Ran this brand belts for years on the 800 Cats with great results. SLIGHTLY shorter then stock, They used to be stickier then OEM cat belts. Not sure how they compare now. Fairly reasonable price. 46.770 in. X 1.46 in. XTX 5020 47.165" length x 1.508" wide STOCK OEM 0627-131
  13. Better then scratchers fir sure.
  14. Upper Michigan. Snowbelts. Looking like a 4 day event coming with 20+. If the weather forecast is true. Lake effect snowbelts can be really hit or miss with forecasts. Still remember years ago in the UP (upper michigan) going to bed and they says 6" overnight. I wake up and its up over the tires on a full size truck!
  15. Yup! Backordered until April.
  16. We all be packing up and driving to Alaska!
  17. Nice! They are calling for a nice dump this entire WEEK over your way. Also western area also. Already better then last season just based on temp outlook. You need some heavy torsions off my RXC let me know? Im pulling them in next week or so. They will collect dust as they way to heavy for me much less the wife on the RXC
  18. Good weights. As you start to pile some miles on, keep a eye on your buttons on the adapt primary. Not saying its a issue, but I have some SLIGHT concerns with how they will wear on the Adapt(with more miles). Specifically where the buttons are located compared to the team. Not saying its a issue at all, just something to watch IMO.
  19. For sure! COLD before snow is best for this exact reason
