Interesting, I’m not sure I’ve ever met a ski Doo guy that rides hard, he’s got an 1.5 ice slipper though so he undoubtedly feels like he’s going fast everywhere and the speedo will agree with him. The 100 miles in a day comment made me chuckle for a 2 year old sled with 3 good rides on it.

These guys are hill drag guys. It’s a 14 or 15 xf 800. Sleds in great shape clutches are brand new I’m guessing because they ran different ones to race. Anything that is fuck upable by hands of man is fucked up though. Luckily he didn’t pay too much for it. He told me it was a hill drag sled and only trail ridden a handful of times, when I pulled the hood off and saw their name on the ecu I knew things weren’t gonna get better from my original once over. We had a lot of issues with these guys when I used to race my buddies mod stock turbo sled so I have a different opinion of them than most. After talking to a few other people It seems a majority of people who have competed with them in the various things they’re involved with all hold them in the same regard though. Maybe crazy Rich’s races aren’t the worst to go to in NY after all 😂

I just started my own business working on boats and powersports this year so I think I’m gonna lay low on this one. Normally it would’ve been out for the world to see. One or two things looked over is one thing but this $1000 probably in parts is a little ridiculous.

Not only are the prices insane but the level of junk being sold is through the roof as well. This sled was just bought with 1400 miles on it from a “well respected” (to people that don’t know them) “race team” that races in and puts on hill drags here in New York. Not pictured are the set screws missing from the clutch weights, incorrect sheave adjuster for the secondary, secondary bolt almost falling out after parking lot time, half of the exhaust springs missing and only the 2 top hood screws holding the hood on. Only 4 of the 10 chaincase tabs were snapped off from being over tightened though..

G4 ski doos are absolutely hideous. Barney cats are up there but not as bad, the 10s and 11s with a tunnel behind the seat are semi decent looking imo. The matryx isn’t awful but they could gain a lot from making the Cruella De Vil shoulder pads a little shorter.

I’d say it’s 5 model years old. Because, well that’s how old it is.

I like him and he’s definitely fast but it seems like he’s hurt for a majority of every season.

That’s at least a decent price (right now) for that sled, well depending on the price of factree graphics.

I honestly haven’t had scratchers on a procross yet so I’m surprised at the common agreement that they run warm. The only time I’ve had a light flash was a 10 degree morning after it drizzled rain all day prior. I find on my 19 600 with the ice slipper that you can always get enough track spin just riding a little harder to keep the temps sub-120. My studded up the middle 800s always run around 104-112 (always thought they ran unusually cool because of this) and they’ve all been 137s. I might put scratchers on the 600 because it’s for my girlfriend and she averages about 13mph and would 100% ride through the dummy light.

Idk if the sleds are done yet or not but I haven’t had to take the snowflap off a sled yet to do them. They’ll slide right in from the front. When you put the self tapping screw in push them up past the end of the heat exchanger to be safe (I know you’re not an idiot but I know someone who put the self tapper into the heat exchanger and then let the epoxy dry so it couldn’t be fixed and had to buy a new exchanger for a zero mile sled). See if the dealer has a kit and three protector pieces by themselves. The gun and epoxy make the kit pretty pricey and a tube of the glue will do 3 sleds.

I got rid of my dead mint one 6k on it with a bunch of extras and a little work done to it for $1000 and a used motor for my sisters formula 500 about 5 years ago.

It might just be me but is anyone else super confused as to why gas cans are a thing on trail sleds now? If you can’t find a gas station within the first 12 gallons what in the fuck is an extra 1.5-2 gonna help?

This map shows a decent representation of how twisty it is but doesn’t show that the groomer box bangs off trees on both sides of the traps the whole way through. That’s why I prefer to ride at night here

Anyone know if the ZR3 motor mounts will bolt onto an aws3 550 bottom end? I saw the ZL550 bottom end is a different part number but that doesn’t necessarily mean a whole lot. Have a chance to buy a clean ZR 500 chassis with paperwork very cheap and have my 550 ext laying around with a new motor and clutch with about 300 miles on it before my brother smashed it up.

I got a semi questionable pair for Christmas. Mossy oak fishing pattern with a nylon strap and added traction on the bottom. They sit a little higher too so they’re not as bad taking the puppy out in the snow but not sure I can be seen in public with them. Gonna have to use some Christmas cash for a couple new pair of classic black or camo units I guess, last years 2 pair are downright dangerous to wear in less than perfect conditions these days.

Rock Maple racing used to do some races on trails out this way. Now the only one left in NY is at a motocross track but is a full blown “cross country track” that they make which may include a couple sections of the local trails. I however went on to pre register for it this year just to see how slow I really ride and Rock maple racing website is gone and they haven’t had a Facebook post in like 10 months.

Secondary looks like they ground the team logo off the face that’s about it. Primary is interesting to watch do it’s thing but looks super easy to service/repair. IMG_7118.MOV

A kid I know has one with like 600 miles on it I begged and begged to sell last year before I bought the 600 limited. It still has 600 miles on it, he still won’t sell it, he still doesn’t know who Roger Skime is and I’m still pissed.
