Had an open trailer pass me in the hammer lane headed north yesterday. Two brand new Polaris and two brand new Doo trail sleds on it. No covers. No salt shield on the trailer. They did have an older PC Cat shoved in the bed of the truck. EVERYTHING covered in salt/road spray.

As far as I’ve seen, all manus are still getting parts in time to sell new vehicles in the same year they were produced and usually still for retail prices. It’s a game. Pay better attention. Most of these large corporations are still making record, or near record profits. If the supply chains were fucking them that bad, they would all be in the red. The only suffering, if that, is being felt by John Q Public. Now, the real shit is going to hit the fan in the next year or two when all of these car companies want to go full EV and they can’t even source the materials to build enough batteries. It’s coming. If they don’t have a plan to have enough ICE vehicles in their portfolios, they are most likely going to be severely fucked.

I just buy used, if I want to upgrade. My problem is that I like riding on and off trail and I don’t like to compromise. So, because I got decent deals on both sleds, I have one for each kind of riding. I don’t have as much into both sleds as I would have into one new one either. SXS would be fun, if I spent more time at my in-laws place up north. I have no use for it around where I live though.

I was talking about sleds. I haven’t bought a new truck since 2013 and that one has been long since gone.

Got out of the new vehicle bs in May of 2020. Bought an older Duramax before prices went through the roof for cheap, with cash. It’s been nice to dump that $400-$500 a month lease payment into something that’s making me money. It’s also kind of fun to have a bit of a project vehicle again too. Now there isn’t a vehicle in my garage newer than a 2006 and the lowest mileage vehicle just rolled 190k last week. Once my house projects are done, and shop is built in my pole barn, I may look into something newer for the wife. She really likes her old Jeep though so for now, it stays.

There was a super clean ZR9SP on there the other day. I have a friend that has a thing for those older ZRs. I sent him the ad. He got a hold of the seller. I guess it was gone in less than an hour.

I had a friend spend some money/time into making his 2006 XF7 a really good handling trail sled. I mean, for what it was. He had a dump truck of money into it by the time he was done though.
