I bet for many years now MCD has known the exact labor rate, ie, when the economics made sense, where they'd install the self-serve technology. We're on the verge of self-driving cars......not surprising that order taker/change maker jobs will be gone soon enough.

When the labor force participation rate is similar to mid 2000's

State and Congressional elections in 2010, 2012, etc.... tell the story. Direct correlation in the macro economy and the # of seats held by the R's. Just the facts.

The bigger issue is that our policy(s) cause inflation....which is a tax on living standards. Look at the industry's we haven't been able to outsource in any meaningful way.......Education, healthcare, and Gov (in general)....and look at their annual cost increases over the past 30 or so years. So, we "solve" our inflation problem with these trade deals that allow us to capitalize on a relatively strong US$ (thanks to our defense, etc), and also capitalize on lower living standards elsewhere in the world. In short, its labeled......exporting inflation....in industries where that is feasible such as MFG. Problem is said "solutions" result in loss of many good US jobs. So hopefully someday we address our inflation at the core. My guess is Trump's policy(s) will further fuel inflation. Interesting times ahead.

Hopefully we see some tax, regulation, and liability policy that encourages the Carrier's of the world to favor US production.....cause these one-off deals aren't a reality for lots of reasons. But otherwise it was a nice gesture to kick-off the Trump admin. Hillary or Obama would have found a reason to justify the job losses.

Just found it....think Jill got 1.4M votes. Depending on how they were distributed in the key states, she probably cost Hillary the WH. Now she wants to spend yet more of other peoples money for a recount. By the way, write-in votes totaled nearly 900k. Gold star effort, Jill.

How many votes did Jill receive in the election? Reasonable to assume most of THOSE votes would have gone to Hillary had Jill backed out of the election......most likely giving Hillary the W.
