  1. Not assault rifles though. No normal person needs them. They should be restricted to military and police
  2. Glad I don't live somewhere that people don't feel a need to have a gun under their jacket to go grocery shopping
  3. My 2011 F150 hasn't skipped a beat since new. Damn thing needed new tires last fall though. Even had to replace wiper blades a couple of times and spray a squeaky tailgate once.
  4. Hate to say it but he appears to be lacking as far as business savvy is concerned. He should be buying that same brand of track from the same source as that independent seller or going to Polaris and saying he needs a better deal. A lot of times it is a matter of asking or leveraging. If the independent guy can buy the track and add markup, handling and still sell it for less than he can buy it there is something fundamentally wrong. I used to work for a major national retailer. They were revamping their stores across the country. They got significant amounts of money from manufacturers / distributors toward the remodel of the stores. Go to Levis for example and say you want money from them to merchandise their product in your store with a better presentation. Their response.... sure.... how much do you need. The retailer sells more Levis and therefore so does Levis. Same thing with the cosmetics companies as well. It was close to those companies saying how much do you want and writing a cheque. They just never really asked for the money in the past.
  5. Or the big box stores who have the large volume purchasing power already can evolve their business model. They will shrink their bricks and mortar footprint and at the same time add competitive online sales as part of their business model. I would suggest Home Depot for example would be able to buy a hammer as cheap as or cheaper than anyone else. They even have in many cases the ability to partner with the manufacturer / distributor where the online retailer doesn't ever touch the inventory. They are an order taker who collects the money and electronically passes the purchaser shipping information to the manufacturer / distributor who picks, packs and ships the order with a periodic financial reconciliation with the retailer. It's a win win. The consumer doesn't go looking for a hammer manufacturer. They look for a retailer like Home Depot. The manufacturer / distributor already has a distribution process in place. The retailer doesn't. The retailer has the POS in place, the manufacturer doesn't.
  6. Not really. If he was the largest distributor then he had the volume buying power to buy the product for less than anyone else. It would seem what killed him was not evolving his business to include online sales as well and compete in the same arena as those entering the online arena. As you said he was the largest volume dealer so even the online competition just emerging wouldn't be able to get the same low cost from the manufacturer as he could. He can only blame himself for missing that boat.
  7. Opportune timing. We just got our MPAC assessment yesterday. The house according to them is now worth $220K more than it was 4 years ago.
  8. Why not just replace the studs rather than the whole hub?
  9. She was the biological mom. Don't know how it came to be and really don't care. Perhaps artificial insemination. The one thing for sure is that like any other family the kid was their top priority.
  10. I'm not a fan of buying shoes and clothes online either. I want to see them touch them and try them on. One manufacturers sizing doesn't necessarily line up with another. On top of that I've been caught even when trying something on. Go to the store and try on a pair of jeans. Find the ones that fit the way you like then pick up 3 more of the exact same stock number, brand, size, style and cut. Get home and find that they were all stitched by different people and don't quite fit the same.
  11. No flag but definitely not a homophobe. One of the very best people I worked with for years was a lesbian. Two moms with a daughter who was a really great kid.
  12. I'd never have a toon unless I had a real boat as well. Great for a party cruise and some people but not my cup of tea. Mind you something like this may convince me
  13. I know some that like to purchase online but they don't do a thorough job of making sure they are comparing apples to apples. Young puppy down the street bought a 46" flat screen TV and was bragging about the fantastic online price he got. That is until he found out that it was grey market product 3 years old and didn't have a warranty. It seems the guy flogging them online bought a few containers of them, foreign source. For many companies if you buy for example a product from say Sony U.S. it is considered U.S. product and doesn't have a warranty in Canada or vice versa. It has to do with Sony U.S. getting the warranty revenue which is built into the product price and then expecting Sony Canada to repair under warranty when they didn't get the warranty revenue as part of the sale. They are two separate companies.
  14. So what do they, perhaps do when they spend a couple of $K on furniture, it arrives, is ugly as shit since the picture wasn't a good one and is liking sitting on a slab of concrete.

Has he announced nanny subsidies for all families yet.... he says he is in touch with the average joe.
  16. Just explains why Wynnebag was in such a hurry to pay out the bonuses way before the actual numbers were known. She had to pay off her friends that didn't actually earn those bonuses. Wasting yet more of the taxpayers money. What arrogance but what else is new. I'm anticipating being told I'm a homophobe any time now because I don't have any use for the twit.
  17. I have been told that where you park the trailer will also make a difference. Apparently parking a trailer on grass is not good for the tires and will rot them out much sooner than for example an asphalt driveway. Another factor is UV exposure. Most sled trailers the tires are tucked in under the bed and protected compared to a lot of others. Our boat trailer doesn't have a whole lot of miles on it but does have years. It's a tandem axle trailer fortunately since the two front tires have had large sections of tread peel off. It was from age rather than miles.
  18. It seems that studies have shown that the puppies are going to the retail store to touch and feel the product to make a decision then buying online to save a couple of bucks. I wonder what will happen if they don't have the retail store to actually go and see the product first hand. I can't imagine buying for example living room furniture online without actually seeing it other than an online picture.
  19. In your opinion.... I find the GM Fugly.
  20. Exactly. Anybody that would dump a load like that won't be buying a new truck anyhow. That's the guy you see with the rusted out beater and the home made wooden box on the back.
  21. Gotta love all this bravado about who is tougher than who.. Kind of reminds me of the kids in grade school and what they used to say
  22. Not according to the real estate board. Don't forget that average includes those condo apartments. Mind you there are some condo apartments at $1M+ $740K average for all homes $1.2M for detached
  23. Here $240K gets you a small condo if you're lucky. The average Toronto home price last month was $740K. After all we are talking about the tax freedom day in Canada.
  24. Like you I wouldn't hit a woman for beating on my truck.... I would do like the guy in the video, call the police and let them deal with the matter. No sense in me getting charged with assault for my truck getting beat up.
