  1. and they would burn a LOT more fuel to make that power.
  2. The 918 Spyders are already a hybrid. It has a battery pack and two electric motors on top of the gazz burner.
  3. It's going to be a long long time!
  4. I'd get you to stand on the hitch tongue while I popped open the latching mechanism.
  5. I helped build our go kart track 15 years ago. We had someone donate the heavy equipment time. These days, if you don't have all the dirt you need on site, I'd bet you could blow through a hundred grand in a hurry.
  6. I think every one of those would have been dirty by today's standard. The Kariya hit was dirty by any days standard.
  7. Makes you wonder what happens when automation hits China and India. Lots of the repetitive assembly line stuff is done there. When automation gets cheaper than what even the millions of them can do it for, then shit will really hit the fan.
  8. We do work in a couple unionized plants and as long as they didn't see you as an asshole or a threat to their work, they were pretty accommodating. Most of the time we are doing work they don't want to do.
  9. A bunch of people died around here in the last month from fentanyl laced coke. I've heard about it being found in MJ as well. Crazy how deadly the stuff is.
  10. Did GS run it after it burnt down? I had my PWC squeak a piston. I left the plug wire off, cranked open the carb and ran it on two to get back home. By the time I got it back to our dock, the piston top was washed pretty clean.
  11. Back before turbo's became a thing, his custom pipes for big bores were pretty well regarded. I never owned a set but they sure looked damn sexy.
  12. He makes some pretty sick stuff. I'd like to hear these screaming at 9200, although the turbo might make kill the sound a bit.
  13. I read this morning that Nookville has punted our Russian diplomats as well. Interesting times.
  14. On the good side, the new legislation doesn't really impinge on gun owner's rights much more than what we already have. On the down side, I don't really see what the changes accomplish, so why bother in the first place? Other than virtue signaling and political posturing or course.
  15. Our cabin is lakefront and worth quite a bit less than what my house is. Insurance is about the same, but I think it has more to do with not having a full time fire dept anywhere close by. Our lake is small and kind of off the beaten path so prices are cheaper. Anything lake front on one of the popular lakes is over $500K.
  16. Really, it's the dirt is what's worth the $$. Not really insuring that, just the wood, bricks and contents that sit on it. I'm about $950 / yr and my place is appraised at $500K
  17. Oh I get it. The feds just seen low taxed cash sitting in corporate accounts and popped a boner over the thought of getting some more of it. Who gives a fuck if businesses need that to ride through the ups and downs of the business cycle. The one owner of the company I work for had just spent a shit ton of money setting up a family trust. Oops, thanks to JT's and Morneau's tax reforms.
  18. I guess there's many different scenarios, but up my way, many are incorporated. The feds proposed tax reforms for small corps last year and the farmers were losing their minds.
  19. I'm pretty sure aerospace the most highly subsidized industry going. Integral part of the military complex too. Pretty sure family farms are corporations these days. They have to be big operations to be viable.
  20. I liked the kid too. I hope he can find his way.
  21. Funny that Frankie's rants that we laughed about about on FS got him charged when he posted them on Facebook.
  22. 99.2% of the population could GAF about drag racing sleds. Hence the reason hyper sleds have never been a big volume segment. 150HP is the sweet spot for consumer sleds IMO. That will get you going as fast as most people care to go in almost any condition.
  23. I seen a reference once about it coming from Japan, but the Georgia plant makes sense. I would have been very surprised if they had engine assembly farmed out to a third party.
