Lost Jobs of North Carolina...Few Seem to Mind

Interesting read about the shift in the furniture making business and how real issue is that the remaining higher end custom makers can't qualified employees. Also interesting is the shift from China to Vietnam where workers are paid even less.

Like I have said before ..Corporate America will always find cheaper labor somewhere on the planet.

Did you read the article...the jobs that remain in the furniture industry are paying much better and other businesses...such as tech...have replaced them and the unemployment rate has dropped drastically.

Well as  has been pointed out a few times while this trade war was supposed to hammer China...which maybe it has or has not...production has simply shifted to places like Vietnam.

Yes I read it. Custom furniture will always be in the states for the small percentage that can afford to pay 600.00 for a kitchen chair. Ever been to a IKEA store?

And in a decade and a half when Vietnam gets to expensive it will shift to Cambodia , laos ect.

China's debt is 300% of their GDP.
