Since when should a products pricing follow a single inflation measurement?   Shouldn't each individual product change prices based on ITS actual cost?  Only a simpleton would think everything should follow one statistic.

Gross margins :lmao:have remained flat.

from the article

She's not imagining it: From February 2020 to this July, grocery prices grew a cumulative 25.6%. That's higher than overall inflation, which was 21.6% during that same period.

One can probably argue that the middle men are what is driving grocery prices.  Nearly everything feeds from them....and they have been incredibly slow to drop prices.  I know my wholesale numbers for BBQ and seasoning are the same even with me taking increases from manus.  I also have some retail stores really pushing the limits on pricing too....but that is a story for another day.

I'm not disputing the facts, groceries are far more expensive in Canada.

If one looks at revenue vs return the margins are actually quite small. It's in the few percent.

I'd like a true macro look at how much our carbon tax has added to that in the last few years.

From the corn seed to the corn flakes on the shelf, carbon taxes affect every stage.

Same.

There are products I really enjoy, and can afford, yet I refuse to buy on principle.

Most grocery stores operate in single digit margins

You'll think that chump change after the next election.

She hasn't really talked about what she is going to do because it would frighten all those but the true marxists.

Whoops, I actually listen to what she says.

She contradicts herself so many times now vs previous stances, you'd think there was an election coming.

Writing down bullshit is far easier for her than being pressured in person.

You either don't follow politics and news at all, or you are one stupid sum of a bitch.
