Platinum Contributing Member steve from amherst Posted January 28, 2023 Platinum Contributing Member Share Posted January 28, 2023 Late this morning just before noon we received a tone to respond for mutual aid to Chester for a snowmobile fire. Chester Fire was in Springfield providing mutual aid at a structure fire. We responded with E1, E2 and 6 firefighters. Due to the location of the snowmobile from Whitten Rd our crew was able to walk up the trail to the snowmobile and fully extinguish with a fire extinguisher. With the remains of the snowmobile being in a dangerous location on the trail our crew decided it best to assist the owner with removing the snowmobile from the trail rather than leaving it for the owner to come back to with some assistance. There are lots of snowmobiles out on the trail and we wanted to be sure that nobody would hit the burned snowmobile. The trail was cleared and our crew returned to the firehouse around 1:30pm.
