The Leafs, to nobodies surprise, have fallen, again. There is no way in hell this group can come close to getting it done.

They have to find a way to test players for the clutch gene.

Will this be a full blow up, or more tweaking, again ?

I don't know who's fan base has a more difficult time getting excited about the playoffs, but I think Leafs fans and Wild fans are in the same boat.  Hey, at least you guys made it out of the first round and were competitive!

Another year hopefully better than last year.

Connor is going to have the attention of sports channels, I am already tired of it.

Here they think this move has never been seen and so great - Fact is the defense is a beginner and the guy chasing Connor down is fixing  his equipment on the way down.

Connor basically did nothing including even a good attempt at scoring :dunno: wait to try that shit on a veteran D\

Every player in the NHL can do this with ease

kid vs Pro   poor Connor

makes 8 moves loses puck and gets taught a less on being in the NHL

Lot of pressure on this kid

Another first round exit coming shortly ! And the Leafs faithful will mope and whine, and be told to wait again, til next year.

This squad is way to much beiber, and not enough beaver ! Way to soft mentally and physically, with nobody on the team that has the clutch gene. Mathews has shown hints of it, but will take another 8 years to fully get it.

Until that changes, they will continue to be only an above average regular season team. Poor Mitch will end up being the whipping boy, and be run out of town.

Nice guy, great REGULAR SEASON performer. Terrible decision on the Leafs management part.

You would think the so called smart guys that are running the leafs should have realized that there was nobody on the leafs that actually has the clutch gene, so when the going gets tougher, and ramps up bigtime as you get closer to the last 4 standing, these guys ALL wilt, and fade away. Hell, they cann,t even make it out of the first round. LOL

Giving him the C will put even more pressure on a guy that cann,t handle pressure.

Personally, I see zero difference with them giving this guy the C, except maybe it will keep him around to sign the next big contract, so they can keep selling jerseys and  keep giving the Leafs faithful a bit of hope during the regular season, only to dis-appear quickly when the real hockey starts, again and again and again.

The good thing for the Leafs is, they have such a great loyal fanbase, and are pulling in so much cash, that it really doesn,t matter if they win or lose during the playoffs. The fans bitch and moan for a couple of weeks, but by the time the next seasons rolls around, they are right back to being believers once again, only to rinse and repeat, once again.

I think John knows something is coming maybe a trade time for him to go I think THE LEAF fans are turning on him

I,m thinking at the end of Johns contract, he will retire as a Leaf. He isn,t leaving Toronto.

Exciting game. They always seem to be, to the very end. Even the conference finals were good to watch.

Happy to see them win that game. It would have been terrible to have to remember this group and watch them repeat how they played so terrible in game 5. Now, can they bring the same intensity on Sunday, to get to the Eastern Cup final ? I got a feeling the Panthers know how to rise to the occasion in big games.

Lots of hoopla about Don Cherry calling it quits on his podcast. So disappointed in Don his obvious old school racism got the best of him.

Leaves what was a wonderful career on the note the he thinks Brown people don't wear poppies which is a very odd hill to want to die on. I STAND WITH DON who feels a HOCKEY SHOW is about poppies and brown people, this is what is very sad about the whole thing defending a Hockey show over Poppies makes no sense

Now seeing the comments about Don and the hate for CBC lol CBC didn't fire DON he worked for SprotsNet a private business CBC actually let Don rant.

They say "I don't watch the intermissions anymore" lol clearly they have never watch since DON never did intermissions break downs he and Ron had 8 minute segment in the first period of the first game Saturday night (never weekday games) . Ron did do intermissions and many other things Don never did, Ron is Mr. Hockey not Don

Classic internet hate for something they never watched but are outraged lol

Don could have gone out as a Canadian Icon instead he is irrelevant by his own doing - SAD
