dirtybeacher
I would never leave my dog in the truck on a hot day. But, I see no problem with running into the store for 5 minutes, while my dog waits, with the windows rolled down. Theres a growing movement in my town of wannabe heroes, looking to get some internet cred. For example this self-proclaimed biker lady that drives a spider: "Just a small warning to all Wasaga locals and visitors to the area. IF you have a dog, cat, or child locked in your car in this scorching heat and you come to find out that your windows have been smashed and the animal or child is missing, you can bet your bottom dollar I saw it first and it was me. Oh ya, I'm the one with a half a dozen cops with me when you come out. Thank in advance for trying to hit me, and you getting arrested. You're welcome." Zambroski
Yeah, I see where that she is coming from. Sounds like she's just speaking out of frustration though. I get that. I'm breaking the window too if the circumstances justify it. Because, well, PEOPLE ARE FUCKING IDIOTS! TheEdge
Take the child in with you and leave the pets at home
dirtybeacher
I do agree with her. The problem is that these people don't know how long the owner has been away from the car. They jump to conclusions too quickly.

ckf
I had someone go off on me a few years ago. Izzy was in the car with all four windows down about 10". The outside temperature at the time was in the mid 60's, and I had parked in the shade. She told me that she had my plate # and was going to call the cops, LOL. Nobody loves my dog more than I do and I would never put her in danger.
Rounder
It is best not to take the dog if you know you will be in a store for a while, if you are in and out like a gas station, no biggie. Remember, people will also steal your pet if you leave the windows down.

Ya when it comes to kids, it's a different story. People leave their kids in cars all the time around here- usually at the casino or shopping malls. I don't get it, I used to take my kid in the store with me every time. Never even thought of leaving him.

If I have had I would have waited for the parent or whoever to come out and then they would prolly call the cops...that's just bs.

stealth bomber
My dog would much rather go on the road tour than stay home alone. So if I have to go into a store, it's windows down 1" and truck running with the AC cranked up, spare key in the ignition with the doors locked. If that bitch breaks my window, she can bet her bottom dollar I'm gonna back over that stupid piece of shit spider and turn it into a pancake.
