And you somehow think that suicide should be included in that?   maybe a botched suicide that happens to take you out as a bystander?

Absolutely it ought to be included. By looking at the raw statistics, a human is two times more likely to commit suicide than murder when guns are available. The cost to society is just as great, possibly even more with suicide. Suicide and murder rates are both relative to the easy availability of firearms.

So you've decided suicidal people will live if they can't get a gun?

Why don't you compare that to drugs.  Drugs are responsible for more suicides than guns.

Some truth to that.  But I still think keeping suicides in gun deaths muddys up the water....unless you are anti-gun.  It all sounds good then.

When something flies in the face of your personal narrative, you change the construct of the issue. You do ii frequently. As well as cherry picking statistics.

Because this thread involves firearms. Tell you what, start one on drugs.

In 2015, deaths in the U.S. from drug overdose surpassed deaths from gun homicides and motor vehicles combined. Although finalized overdose death data have not yet been released for 2016, estimates indicate that overdose deaths are again set to eclipse total deaths from motor vehicle accidents and gun homicides.
