  1. Years after the Republicans are back in office, nobody is gonna want to remember Obama. Well, the ones that will be forced to contribute and work or starve will look back lovingly, but that's about it. The world is hoping for Hillary with baited breath....they can't wait to have more of our jobs!
  2. I love dogs like that. I've never had one though. Take something out of a Husky's mouth and throw it and you are going to get a look of confusion and they'll wait for you to go get it. I swear I heard one mumble this to me: "WTF did you do that for you idiot! Go get it yourself not, but get me a pig ear first...and hurry the fuck up about it!" Neither. I lost one to a stroke (I think). Came home and she was in her normal spot sleeping (I thought). Went to give her a treat and within 3 steps I know something was wrong. She was gone. I just sat with her for a good while. What haunts me on two of the three I made the choice for was waiting too long. Trying to medicate them back to health and telling myself they'll get better. It was selfish and I'll never forgive myself. When you make the decision, and it's no easy one, but when it is decided, set the appointment and KEEP IT. That's what I did for my last one and while it was still shit-ass tough, I gave him the gift of going with more dignity and less pain. Damn this shouldn't be a feel bad thread...but we all know it's coming. We sure do love these guys (and girls). Well, I may have bad news for you both....it's gonna be up to him if he wants to get in the car or not. You may be able to walk him right to the door but that may it. Cuz if he ain't helping load himself up...well...good luck. Bring meat. He likes BBQ.
  3. We are here to class this joint up. Well, Badger and XCR are here to class it up anyway. I'm just here to shit in the bed like the rest of the God damned delinquents.
  4. Yep. The little one is Piper. She's not that little (bout 45 lbs) but he's a damn Ogre. Kenai is 160 pounds of oaf. My little polar bear cub. Just as sweet as he can be, but sure as hell can stop you in your tracks with his looks. Here with his little friend:
  5. It's no joke. Not gonna lie a bit, I've lost 4 now and cried like a girl every time. We take a week off to get our heads straight. It's tough as hell.....for every one of them. This is Zambroski. My first boy. Almost 15 when I put him down.
  6. Hey...you aren't watching...you are playing. And apparently, getting a good ol' fashioned "ass-handing" on both fields. I admire your effort though. But we don't give out participation medals on either site. Well, I know we don't on HCS. Doesn't look like here either. Somebody verify?
  7. What? Where is that fucking idiot? How'd he get through the electric fence? Wait one..... I'm getting my gun and I'll be right over!
  8. Oh, he's getting credit for it. But only from people that aren't liberal imbeciles. And clearly, that credit doesn't make it through most of the airways. We're going back to the 80's for some bizarro comparison? What? You lost me. But we could probably compare prosperity growth percentages during Reagan's admin against Obama's. Wonder how that might work out. And let's not forget the last jewel that is required spewing for the lib-tards; it's Bush's fault. I think that will be inscribed on the sidewalk leading into the Obama Presidential Library. Sure to be filled with "his people" trying to gain knowledge and get ahead in life. Jesus....wonder what those late fees will add up to. Liquor store in the back!!!!
  9. "Chubby". You don't see that word much. Her and I are not fond of each other.
  10. Here's the problem with this type of brainless rhetoric: those numbers were going up anyway on the upswing of a economic cycle. We could have put a box of red fucking hair in the Oval Office and they'd still have gotten better. Unfortunately, we elected something sillier than the box of hair and he and his administration hindered the whole correction cycle. But, that's all none of my business.
  11. Or oven. Damn I'm hungry. How far are you from MN?
  12. You are getting to the point where mines starts losing pinched of bark and small cuts in the meat start to appear. Damned if I can figure it out.
  13. A new stator and it would have been good to go. But at the 5000 mark, these sleds begin to become worth more in parts and I was ready for some new iron. I actually sold the whole thing to a guy that parts them out. It was in pretty good shape as I am pretty anal about upkeep.
  14. Is anybody listening to that guy anymore? I'd take more stock in advice from the old lady down the street with 100 cats...and a canary.
  15. I put 5000 hard miles on my last sled. 800 etec. Not so much as blip til I toasted the Stator...just parted it out from there. The only thing I didn't like was the difficulty in working around and on it. Just limited space with all that fancy-shmancy technology.jammed in there. And I didn't like how the secondary shaft set up bolted in there either. The rest was pretty damn good. Light, fast, and fun. Not as sturdy as my RR that I have now that's for sure. But like I said..it went 5000 miles on some tough terrain, corner to corner and gave all I could ask of it. Still...like my Cat better though. It just feels more like a racer and is built for more punishment.
  16. It's hard to tell. I certainly think his showmanship in this whole thing is proving to be a winner. His plans (schemes), seem to hit a nerve with the Republican Party. I really think it goes to the video I posted earlier....I just think we are sick of the same old routine from our "leadership". What scares everybody the most, even the GOP, is his popularity. Neither side want a president that is so popular that a simple hint from his mouth about them and their career goes down the tubes...or whole damn party takes a hit. And that's what he has and for good or bad, most, including me. find it refreshing. And what else is also a breath of fresh air is his monetary situation. Think he won't say what he wants and worries about slander or libel lawsuits? Think he worries about them from the other party? NOPE! And that scares the shit out of the Dems (and Republicans). Cruz, that fucking lying weasel, tried to do his best/worse and in the end, just made himself look even more pathetic. He'll be busy coaching his kid's soccer team next year. In the end, I don't know how he'll fare. But, IMO this election is shaping up to be less about the real issues and more about social sentiment. A lot more than the last two were. The ones that love government suckling and "power to the people"...any people..form anywhere at anytime regardless of who it hurts. And, well, not that I guess. I cringe at him being our leader, but I look at what he is running against, and what we have now and truly, he'd still be the better option. Our economy would flourish, jobs would explode, the public sector would get a huge shot in the arm from the banishment of ridiculous government over regulation that it has endured under Obama's admin. Flip side is, we're gonna see a lot of hate grow dividing us and causing problems with our world relationships. That's not good. But I truly wonder if it matters. We are so fucked up it's crazy silly. And I for one wouldn't mind seeing our own little social and civil issues come to a head as fast as they could get there by any means necessary. Does that mean I'm gonna get to turn my truck into a crowd of idiots protesting for something/anything that is their "flavor of the week" well, probably not....but maybe I can just "graze" them. I saw it on two news channels one morning. I found it interesting because I would have thought different. I'm sure you can google it and get something. I could too and post it here for you but I don't accept homework assignments from strangers on a forum board.
  17. The 225 mark needs to be as close to meat level as possible. If your gauge is at the very top of your smoker, it's gonna read high. Try getting rid of the water, and get the temp between 250-275 but keep an eye on it. If it looks like the bark is getting overcooked, it's getting too hot. Looking at your pic...it is undercooking. At 4 hours at the right temps you should have a darker bark on it and noticably more shrinkage. Hey man...don't sweat it. IMO, and contrary to what some may claim, this doesn't need to be an exact science. My smoking can vary in temps throughout the process a lot and it always comes out fantastic. Sometimes if I really pay attention it's super fantastic! Shoulders are awesome because they are pretty much idiot-proof. The fat saves the day on these things! But damn....I have screwed up chicken and brisket......almost like I was trying to make dog food!
  18. Way low. You need to add some heat to this thing or you'll be tending it until Saturday night. I was gonna ask with the "prep pick" but it seemed your coal source was sorta on the sparse side....but I don;t know what your grill. Got an external thermometer? It should be around 225. The internal temp of the meat needs to get close to 200.
  19. Man...so many do that different. I just crank up the heat and ride it through. It works better for me too because I can take it off about 2 hours earlier. Just as good IMO. Oh...and doing that also gives it a harder, crunchier bark. I like it that way.
  20. I'd like to get some brisket going again but I just don't have the patience for that shit. I'm gonna try and get better at it this year. That stuff is tough to do right.
  21. I do when smoking leaner stuff but I've found that the Butts are plenty fatty to keep them moist IMO
