  1. Thinking about doing that? Realized, after another look, that I had more material/area than originally thought. I ended up finding a handle off a scrap Snap-On tool box that will work great, I think? I just have to modify (cut) the bracket as it is too big/tall to fit between my rear door and the bottom of the trailer. New holes will be in order but the extra length will come in handy.

What I was also wondering? I'll text my buddy tomorrow to see if they honor such a thing?
  3. My very first sled that my Father purchased in the early 70's. Nordic 399E with a cigarette lighter and pop-up headlight.
  4. Studs all the way! I never studded my 95 XLT due to the deep lug track (at the time) but quickly studded it before I gave the sled to my son. My Vector came studded and after riding my XLT for years without them, I quickly remembered why I loved them so much.
  5. Yeah, when I Google Trailer grab handle, I get a good variety of everything, Chris. Never imagined getting one 10" inch eye to eye would be so difficult! I had another look this morning before hockey, and realized, aside from drilling new holes, that it doesn't have to be exactly 10 inches eye to eye as there is enough material there to drill new holes if I have to. Thanks.

    A arm clean up

No primer, just like you mentioned above. Silver was the factory color, and if I was you, I would sand down to remove all the black you can or what you mentioned will likely happen. Good luck.
  7. Thanks. I've never bent up a piece of Hyfax, but it might be worth a shot?
  8. Where my handle attaches, there are 2 ribs running vertical where the handle mounts. If I go outside or inside those, I would be just drilling into the thin sheet metal, where obviously, there would be zero strength. Pretty much has to be 10" inches eye to eye for it to work. I did find a handle last night that measures 10.125 eye to eye so I may be able, with a little tweek, that will work? Thanks.

    A arm clean up

Just spray. Tremclad silver rust paint. I didn't sandblast them either as I don't have the means, I just wire wheeled/sanded the rusty spots and scuffed up all the other areas really good with sandpaper then sprayed them. I also was thinking about powdercoating but all parts, grease, etc need to be removed first. My 2 idler wheels are pressed on (see pic) and I didn't have the means nor wanted to get into removing them so that is why I just ended up painting them. The factory Yamaha skid paint was cheap, imo, as the sled didn't have a lot of miles but the condition/rust under there was terrible. With the Tremclad rust paint and Tremclad clear, it is holding up great in my opinion.

    A arm clean up

I used Tremclad silver on my rear suspension and it has lasted great imo so you should have no worries with your A arms Of course, like what has been mentioned, prep is very important. I sanded, cleaned, degreased and wiped down with alcohol before spraying and let dry a good few days before reassembly with the summer heat curing in my shed/garage.
  11. I bought the trailer used and was glad it had that option. Definitely comes in handy, even when it is just sitting in the driveway. I assume Reinhart is a trailer dealer? I forgot about the trailer place in Port Perry. Going to have to Google him. Was hoping to avoid metal for obvious reasons but at this point I am game for anything. Of all the searching I have done on E-Bay/Google, it's surprising this is so hard to find! I am assuming the 10" eye to eye/center to center holes was specific for Sno Pro. Going to see what I can get made at work with some scrap metal that is usually easy to find laying around. Would prefer a plastic/rubber direct replacement as this trailer is an 07 and has lasted well, but I guess with an aluminum one, like you say, I won't be needing another. Thanks guys.
  12. I am in need of a rear trailer lid grab handle as mine is about to break. My trailer is a Sno-Pro and I have had no luck contacting them to see if one is available. My handle is rubber/plastic and I need one with bolts holes that are 10" apart or 10" eye to eye. I have looked at local trailer stores, and Triton trailers, and all I can find is 9" inch eye to eye. Any help would be appreciated.

    Boat Registration

Who's they? Very easy to pull it if he felt the front of the boat start to come up. Sure the boat may react in some way but it beats the alternative. I'm sure they would much rather have some bruises and soiled shorts than being upside down!
  17. Nice looking sled! I will be driving my old iron again this year. I never got out once last year due to the lack of snow and my son's rep hockey schedule but hope to change that this year! We just picked up his XLT today and I am glad to say there is zero rodent damage or anything else wrong. It was put in indoor storage 2 years ago and not looked at once! Fired right up, after about 20 pulls, and ran great. Going to get my going this week or next week-end. Permits came in last Tuesday and are currently hanging on the garage fridge right in front of last years permits.

    Boat Registration

The previous owner flipped it!! Don't know the story but I believe he sold it right after that incident. Here's a couple vids taken on our lake (Crowe in Marmora) Ryan, who is almost 19, hit 95 in this vid. Pete had a firm hold of the tether even though, after the prop change, it is unlikely it'd go over, especially with the lake like glass.

No problem. I don't think CDN Tire or the like sell it like that but for sure Car Quest does.
