my buddy moved out to oahu about 7 or 8 years ago now working remotely to a web engineering position in a different time slot. His girlfriend was a successful pharma rep locally. She's been there with him all this time and the best she's been able to do is a hostess. Same deal. couldn't even manage a transfer position within the same company.

yep, not sure what they did either. admission to the parts were in steady decline for like 10-15 years. I went oct. of 16 with my son and it was packed. seems Disney has managed to bring people back to the parks without changing much. early to mid october used to be a middle of the road time to go as far as people. it was completely packed. lots of things were down and in mid construction. they now have the avatar portion of animal kingdom open so that this park will have evening attractions instead of closing early. soon they will have the star wars portions ready which will really draw crowds. I read that they are opening complete star wars themed hotels with missions and live action happening right there. if anything at this point they need to start limiting the number of people in the parks at a time because it's just not equipped to handle what they are letting in. it gets so crazy during normal operations that just walking around can be a chore. I have no plans to go back anytime soon and I have been half a dozen times. loved it and had great memories there. last time just wasn't worth the hassle.

had a few projects going lately. pulled the 28 roadster apart last spring to go through a few things. radiator, gas tank and motor were all leaking like a sieve and the transmission was popping out of second. figured I'd rebuild the transmission, replace the radiator, re-seal the gas tank, regasket the motor and slap it back together in a month or two.. easy. was taking my time... didn't get to pulling the pan until early summer and this is what I found. the silver color is nickel, what you use when you weld cast iron. these are crack repairs that were done 25+ years ago.

I tried REALLY hard to read this entire thing. once I got to the third bold though, I realized I wasn't talking to someone who had any grasp of history or the world today. bold #1: dictionaries are written by old white men, stale, fixed and incapable of containing all words and their meanings. (historically accurate until the writer goes on to bold 2) bold #2: Dictionaries are written by programmers who use bots to find words and their contexts and put them in a fluid real time database. (yet the writer continues the rant on how things were done decades ago) bold #3: is just where I had to stop reading. the lack of knowledge and self entitlement dripping in this tirade is vast. racism was not invented in the 1700's. "black people" hold no monopoly on racism. they are not special little snowflakes who are the only ones that have had a system hold them down. in fact, black people were one of the first documented societies to actually form a racist system that enslaved people. there is no way I actually believe Moto is dumb enough to fall in line with this crap. I can't believe he even posted it.

But amusingly his job puts him in a place to see more of the world than 3/4 of this site will see in there entire life.
