New Cat dealer just popped up locally. Announced it will be Cat and Kawi added to a so far very successful Yamaha dealership.

The problem is that all the guys that had passion for the brand ran it into the ground. Guys like Troy Halvorson and Brian Dick should be making the important product affecting decisions at Cat (with minimal textron oversite just to stop them before they completely fuck up) I won’t buy another procross or at least this “generation” procross. I buy new every 2 years generally. It’s not that I don’t like the sleds and they don’t fit me but if I’m gonna spend another $15k in 2024 it better be different than my last 3 sleds.

Whoever they have doing their marketing now now is horrible, they need some serious advice in that department from their old friends up the road in Roseau.

I agree with that for sure, people look to them to see what’s coming next. Its not like I was pumped to see nothing new but I don’t see it as such a huge deal like some others do. I think after 2021 and hopefully this year they’ll be at the point as a company that textron will either sell them to the next guy (as a company finally in the black) or they’ll decide it’s time to make something of it. Or they’ll go out and I’ll put all my different 90s cat leathers I have on eBay and pay cash for my new XCR. Fuck ski doo either way.

I’m not saying it like they’re the end all be all of snowmobiles lol I think ramstads an idiot too so I’m sorry if I sounded like him 😂. I’m just saying more people pay attention and put more emotion into cats reveal every year than anyone else’s.

I already know what I would ride if cat was gone or they came out with something new and I hated it. Like I said the chassis working best for me and my riding style is the number one reason for me, but an amazing dealer and the luck I’ve had with all my cats is another factor. I also could give 2 flying fucks about a gauge/gps, maybe me and my buddies are old school but the only plan we make for riding is what trail system/meet up spot we’re going to. Go out ride our sleds and when it’s time to get heading back to the truck we look for trail signs pointing to places that we know are the right way. Hardly ever use a map. This has also turned into some 300+ mile days but thats what snowmobiling is about o us. This will be my 5th procross sled and I’m not disappointed about it at all. I can see Tom being upset since he’s on like his 37th or something but most “cat diehards” that bitch are on 17 and older sleds and don’t even realize how different the 20+ and even 18+ are from their sleds.

Where’s your buddies place I bet I can find him one easily. I drive past 2 to go to my dealer thats an hour away (other 2 are 20 and 30 minutes away). There’s about 10 within 70 miles of me. The dealer didn’t tell textron to pack it up their ass he just wanted to save face as an underperforming dealer. The fact that everyone that rides every brand has to talk about them 24/7 begs to differ.

As @mnstang said cat “diehards” pissed about textron owning cat makes absolutely no fucking sense to me. Arctic cat was out of business, they were completely fucked and now they’re at a “sustainable” place. Now they have the ability to A- still be a company and brand and B- maybe come out with some new shit in the next couple of years. “Textron put polaris out of business when they owned them.” Yea after 13(ish) years of ownership and arctic cat put themselves out of business at the same time you goofy bastards. I’m calling my dealer and ordering my 22 RR tomorrow, it’s still the best sled for me and I’ve rode them all. I don’t need a fancy new gauge or a new set of plastics and different part numbers on old shit wrapped up in a “new chassis” to make me know what I like in a sled for my riding style.

I’ll let him know, he keeps telling me “I have a feeling this ride is gonna be the one it lets loose now” 😂. Also if cat didn’t have the 2020 RR I’d say that indy is the best looking rider forward chassis sled ever.

We made our rounds to our respective brands dealers Saturday for a trip we’re going on Wednesday and the service manager at the polaris dealer told my buddy that he hasn’t seen an 850 go over 4200 miles. His assault has 3700 going into the weekend so we’re hoping he breaks that record or we’re gonna have a damper on our weekend...

I snowchecked a 21 RR put 120 miles on it and it got hit in the tunnel. So I have a 19 limited 600 to finish the season and give to my girlfriend in the spring. Not being able to see the hole an RR only would’ve helped so much.

I didn’t think we’d ever agree... I stopped in to get a windshield for my girlfriends 600 doo before I sell it and they had a rave. I took a look at the skid and the first thing I thought was, this is just a rush (Whatever they’re called in the newer chassis’) with a full tunnel.

Riding Friday night the trails were mint. I was behind a buddy with a lot of snow dust we were hammering pretty good through a field. Came over a knoll and holy shit was there a bomb hole on the other side of this fawkin thing. I had no clue the thing was there from the snow dust and I started down into it and thought I was on my way to China, must’ve been 10 feet from the top of the knoll to the bottom of the hole on the other side. Totally unexpected I fuckin whaled both my knees off the panels, thought for sure I horseshoed the bars, completely bottomed the sled out and came out of that thing about 3 feet off the ground and sideways. Asked my buddy about it and he says “yea knew it was there from last night that’s why I went outside the stake....” Up until that point I was like wow I’d love to be on a ZR right now. After that I don’t know if I’ll ever go for something low and fast again. 😂

That’s a good point @Crnr2Crnrnever thought of that. I rode a poker run today tons of people out and a ton of old iron on the trails. Even followed a family with 2 little kids one on a snow scoot and one in a zr200. Probably the 10th 200 yamacat I’ve seen on the trails this year. It’s awesome to see them out there riding, these 2 kids were getting off the seats for bumps leaning into the corners and everything. I was behind them for a couple of miles and they were doing 25mph the whole time.

Aren’t some of the ice races fairly tight tracks? They can make the moto races exciting on tv you would think they could try that. And for the “regular” XC races they could at least get some good highlight film to show. Hell GNCC hare scrambles are on FS1 now. It’s so much cooler and obviously closer to how real people ride snowmobiles. Rock Maple Racing does a few races by me and I wanted to get in the trail class this year just to see how I would do but my RR got rear ended with 120 miles and I bought a limited 600 from Taperk to finish out the year on and update my girlfriends sled so I didn’t wanna abuse that too bad lol.

Last night was the first snocross race I’ve watched in probably 5 years. I could go another 5 and not feel like I’m missing anything. I wish they could capture and push the XC racing for TV better.
