  1. the 19's were as you said, consumer sleds and required a ton of work for XC including changing the over structure. https://www.ridex365.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/2019-600-Indy-XC-Cross-Country-Terrain-Racing-set-up-sheet.pdf 20 & 21 were XCR 600 same as consumers https://cdn1.polaris.com/globalassets/snow/root/team-polaris/racer-resources/cross-contry/setup-information/2021-600-indy-xcr-cross-country-terrain-racing-set-up-sheet.pdf?v=89142f36 22 & 23 are Cross Country's, because XCR's in Matryx are 650's https://cdn1.polaris.com/globalassets/snow/2023/racing-resources/cross-country/2023-indy-cross-country-600-terrain-racing-set-up-sheet-update.pdf?v=b053686b I enjoy snooping around this page... https://snowmobiles.polaris.com/en-us/team-polaris/racer-resources/
  2. we saw more sleds yesterday at our lunch stop than we saw riding Tue/Wed/Thur combined it's going to be a busy weekend, I fear trails will get destroyed
  3. https://shop.arcticcat.com/7639-969#/s/ARC//7639-969//1/y anyone else have experience with the tunnel flares? can't seem to find any different part #'s for 129/137/146
  4. couple things which were problems... he purchased and mounted the cable scratchers himself (without experience) and he mounted them too high on the rail. basically, they're curb feelers if you're old enough to know what those were. yesterday in good snow conditions I ran the 720 which I almost always have the scratchers down on (because I refuse to jeopardize that engine) and was running around 100 degrees consistently. brothers RXC was running in the 120-130 range. as a test, on a section I knew there was good snow I lifted the scratchers on the 720 and was running in the low 130's within a couple miles, and the scratchers went right back down. so... on his RXC I'm removing the curb feelers and installing either wire Cat scratchers which I know work very well or the Doo wire scratchers. if we use the Cat one's he's just going to always remember not to back up with them deployed, or the Doo ones can be used in reverse. the Cat coat hangers throw up a ton of snow and ice.

sadly, here's where we're ending the story for now... compression 128mag and 130pto and cylinders were borescope checked from multiple angles. everything in the entire fuel system was either replaced or cleaned. reeds removed, inspected and gasketed. new airbox foam, intake tube cleaned and sealed. all exhaust removed, inspected and resealed with new gaskets and springs. power valves removed, inspected and cleaned. power valve cables adjusted to specification. voltage regulator replaced. starts on first or second pull and idles perfectly at 1500 rpm. where the problem lies... on a track stand it revs to about 5800rpm, then just falls flat on it's face and the sled won't move under it's own power. we loaded it on my brothers truck last night and it's going to Joe next before anything else gets touched on it. we're all thinking it's something electrical at this point. can't thank young gun Jake for helping me with this project and our mutual meticulous nature of doing things. after covering all the bases we had time to we were both disappointed and yet strangely a bit happy to see it leave last night. will update when we know... on the bright side, his 21 RXC is going to live here for me to dial in for him.
  6. rode six out of the last seven days with my brother during his annual birthday trip home, one day at the snowmobile muesems. all of our riding was in Marathon, Lincoln and Langlade counties. I'm f'ng exhausted. going to ride nothing but the couch today and hope our trail conditions don't deteriorate any further.
  7. let's hope not I already have the resident name caller on ignore

  9. nope, I don't follow him around and I'm HCS 'banned' regardless there's seven pages now of discussion about this chassis running on the warm side. are they only to be ridden in ideal conditions? if they require scratchers, tunnel flares, etc. to be ridden when conditions aren't ideal why aren't they on there from the factory? in my pics on the previous page you can see a difference of the amount of snow the prior chassis accumulates... unless your green goggles are on.
  10. what's the title of this thread ding dong? https://www.freedomsledder.com/index.php?/topic/42535-is-the-procross-chassis-prone-to-overheat/page/6/ no shit Sherlock... go back start from the beginning and maybe some of it will be absorbed into your noodle. riding on the lower torsion spring settings, dipping into fresh snow constantly and consistently running scratchers when conditions aren't ideal... oh, that's right, green goggles man finds that totally acceptable. are you going to order a Catalyst Jimbo? remember how many times you said Cat didn't need a new chassis? welcome back dimwit...
  11. welcome back... how long is up to you
  12. conditions were just as shitty and also good in places as yesterday... same temps, not great snow and if we don't get some soon I fear they're going to temporarily shut trails down locally. but anyhow... on torsion setting '2' he saw a high of 140 and ran quite a ways with it varying between 125-140 then... I set it back to torsion setting '1' which varied between 115-130 the difference of snow blowing out under the flap was quite noticeable since this experiment began. this all said, we had great conditions Saturday and Sunday and cooling wasn't an issue. guess we'll see where it goes from here and I've a few things to sort out for him.
  13. out of curiosity @p51mstg was the cooling system at all altered or discussed about the Catalyst?
  14. I'm probably going to have him order a pair and install them. Good point 👍
  15. hard to see (hit full size) but there's a dramatic difference in tunnel depth to trap the snow.
  16. Perfect, look who's back just in time for this. So, here's what I found. Yesterday the Procross overheated once in mid thirties temps riding on snow. Had him ride in front of me for a couple miles and noticed it was blowing a lot of snow past the flap. Rear torsions were set on '3' by the previous owner. Turned it down to '1' to see if it made a change to get the flap closer to the ground. Never overheated once after that and the temps got to the 40's yesterday afternoon. We're going to test it on '2' today. After adjusting to '1' it never ran over 136 degrees. Here's my theory about the Procross running hot. The taper of the tunnel is higher which gives less enclosure around the rear of the skid to capture snow to actually fall onto the track and hit the coolers. Same trails and same conditions at the same time you can see how much snow buildup is on the SnoPro vs the Procross on torsion spring setting '1'
  17. I applaud this comment.
  18. https://casaamigosmexicanrestaurantwi.com/ Very good and affordable lunch specials. Merrill location.
  19. while having a wonderful trailside meal with my brother I'm trying to figure out how to blame TRUMP
  20. no common fuckin sense? like I should have to leave notes like this in a building full of 'adults'? numbskulls Arrgh.... going riding in 50 minutes.
  21. it was literally snowment IDK what they do for ice racing with them to keep them cool, aside from a tunnel enclosure. we'll look into alternative scratcher options because what he put on there is not working at all. edit... maybe these?
  22. so is a new one if tuned properly, especially the SX sleds. fuel injection has helped helped though.
