Michelins are absolutely the best quality tire there is. With that said I have no experience with that specific model. I haven't had a personal vehicle without dedicated snow tires in a very long time. That's the only way to go, I have no time for bullshit all season tires in the winter and there is no down side other than storing an extra set in the off season. Extremely small price to pay

What the mask pushing lockdown supporting corona bros don't understand

You make it sound like there's only one thing they don't understand. -
This sled was gone less than 24 hours after being posted. It was a nice one too only 1900 miles and looked mint. Oh well I sold one of my sleds last night so I'm really freed up to pounce on something if I see it. But I got to ride the old Jag today when I went out to set traps so that was a treat. Forget how nice it is to ride on powdery snow. So soft.

Today heading north I saw probably 30-40 sleds riding in the ditches and fields, over half of all were CATS. I love living in CAT country

Live on the edge man! A mouth full of gasoline won't kill you. I hope! At least hasn't yet!

Weight on the scale doesn't equal weight on the trail. Riding a sled is the only way you can judge it -
I do not consider them rider forward. Watch the guys when they raced them they are all hunched over. They look cool but it's pretty much a firecat

The Yamaha spec sheet lists their alpha blast at 429#. I think they still list weights on the spec sheets. My 2019 cat and 2005 car have listed weights on the spec sheets. So the information is out there. -
Guys on Facebook just love these sleds. It's like a cult following. I don't get it. They mostly seem to just like restoring them and not riding or racing them. Probably for the better.

Cat was saying 400# when unveiled, didn't anyone else see? They stopped posting weights in the twin spar days. In the F7 days their marketing went HARD on power to weight. The twin spar was cool but it shouldn't have been their only trail sled. They should have kept the firecat going and have two offerings. They later brought out the cfr but it was too late then and pretty outdated, and wasn't called F7 -
Great sleds, I will miss it

have you priced an old rotary phone on ebay lately?
mnstang replied to Crnr2Crnr's topic in HCS General Forum
Are you trying to hoard rotary phones now too? -
Well the 500 is gone, I guess I don't belong here no more. That sled was sweet.

2 Scratch or not 2 Scratch that is the Question?
mnstang replied to Icecube's topic in HCS General Forum
I haven't used the ski scratchers but guys that do claim they work. I'm not sold on them. I'd just use the standard cat spring style. They work the best. You can slit a piece of rubber hose and put over your rail if you're worried about it digging in or attach a small piece of steel.. or many other ways I'm sure. For the mounting I my high country has back to back wheels like that and you just have to remove the trailing wheel and use that hole. Yes you lose a wheel but it's not a big deal and it's not necessary because now your slides have lube (giggity) from the scratchers. If you are going through slides fast enough where you have to carry spares then you need scratchers because you're also overheating your track which will cause premature (giggity) failure. I don't like the cable scratchers they flop all over and ate always coming unhooked when they shouldn't be. And I think they'd add alot more drag if you play in snow. -
Hell it's already here I just saw a pic today RIOT X EV

Slides are pretty cheap, I wouldn't worry about it. Some people have scratchers that mount on the skis hardware. -
Be interesting in 5 years all the used Polaris with no working gauges no odometer readings, can't replace gauge because it's more than the sled is worth. Oops nevermind. In 5 years a Polaris is in the scrap yard anyway nobody keeps them they like to make fun of cat guys for owning a sled for a long time yes the joke is on the guy that doesn't have to buy new every year...

Yep that was the incident. All the retards were out that day, some real gooners. Warmer late season days seems to bring them out. That guy had tons of time to get on his side but apparently couldn't and decided to ride right into me. Polaris. Probably drunk. Guy seemed weird. Kind of ruined trail riding for me. All it takes is one moron, I was lucky.
