What about pass thru mode or similar? If the modem is passing 192.168.1 to the router and the router is also trying to use that space on the lan, it won’t work.

Alternatively, get the modem switched to bridge mode. It’s in routed mode now by the sounds of it.

Change the entire lan network range on the router. Use 172.31.0.1 for the router lan IP Set the dhcp range to use 172.31.0.100-200

Does the new router use the same ip space on the lan? If so, that’s the issue

Won’t work well for airbags but I carry a tool that has a metal point to shatter a window and has a seat belt cutter on the other side. They are cheap on Amazon.
