  1. Damn dude. That really sounds like it. Did your doctor give you any treatment? I have no idea how this year's flu has been hitting people and everyone's body reacts different anyway. Glad you came thru it ok.
  2. Dec 23rd my older brother (52) went to the ER with a rushing heart rate and what he assumed was pneumonia as he was having a hard time breathing and getting rid of a bad cold and cough. They tested him for Influenza A and B which both turned out negative. They sent him home with what they called a "severe upper respiratory infection." I never asked him what they all gave him but damn sounds like COVID-19 to me. This time of year these things are much more common but does make one think. He's not a world traveler but did do a bunch of traveling around the midwest and was at a few concerts and socializes in bars quite a bit.
  3. Holy fuck. Yeah a balanced budget amendment would be awesome but what if govt spending is more than what people make? Damn dude do some reading on the Laffer curve. Budgets need to have more constraints than just they are fully funded by taxes.
  4. If I'm a prepper I should ask the govt to re-stock my supplies that I use. Its no different.
  5. Can you imagine how much money the govt would collect if tax rates were 100%. Works both ways dude.
  6. And when the unemployment funding runs out it throws more people on welfare and into other govt programs that again don't have the funding. Its circular dude. Those programs are going to need support if we are to believe what they are telling us will happen to UE rates. Don't get me wrong I think people should have a 4-6 month rainy day fund for something just like this......fact is they don't so we rather do a what we can where its right or the country is done. Plain and simply.
  7. Some of these programs isn't the govt's responsibility.
  8. Good points. I was assuming the help for some of the programs in place would be if they become financially in trouble.
  9. Dr. on this morning said microwaving food should kill the virus. I would have like him to be more absolute but its what was said. High heat (proper cooking of food) absolutely should kill the virus.
  10. We should not have passed such an across the board plan. Many, many people are still working and will not need checks. The focus should have been on those that need it. The focus should be on funding unemployment Insurance and LOANS to business'.
  11. 5 states might end up being 90% of our cases and fatalities.
  12. Taxpayers should do the same. Banks don't do student loans.
  13. We had only 10 confirmed cases when we stopped travel from China.
  14. We had 10 confirmed cases in the US when Trump shutdown travel from China. Truedumb is still letting them in. Yours is coming.
  15. Full on war with China. Nuke all govt facilities. Bs
  16. Fuck the virus aid packages. Let it all collapse and fail. Im ready. Bs
  17. I recall in a economics textbook in college where it was claimed 37,000 American's die from every 1% increase in unemployment. Now I don't recall how it was calculated or where the author got the statistics but it doesn't seem all that outrageous, even from suicide and crime alone. The book was written in 1981 likely with populations much less than now. If unemployment jumps from 4% to 34% think of the losses. 1.15 million people using the old figures. As a nation we do and obviously will have to in the future take into considerations all impacts including economically when dealing with these outbreaks. Honestly this one wasn't as bad as we may eventually face. 20-30% of anyone and everyone could die in a really bad one. World is over as we know it if that occurs.
