  1. Only we think we have the time and money to make that happen.....and we don't.
  2. And big oil hating solar.....really? Because we rely so heavily on big oil for our electricity in the USA. And his vote counts the same as all others!!!!
  3. Can you post a picture of your solar array?
  4. Imagine if the US were mostly liberal....we'd be living under sharia law by now. I'm thinking Canada will go that way by 2030, at the latest.
  5. Gov procurement is a mostly if not all low bid. But you knew that.
  6. I had a weak cell signal in my home, but most other places it was good (Verizon). I route cell calls via my cable modem now--wifi calling (while in the house) so no more dropped calls etc....and without the need to buy a booster. Simple tweak of the cell phone's settings was all it took.
  7. Mostly agree. We'll live like they do in Israel. For real solutions to get us out of the ME: 1) Any US MADE auto that can go 200 (or more) miles per charge...the buyer gets a 50% fed tax credit. This incentive lasts for 15 years. 2) All airline tickets are taxed at 100% effective tomorrow. 3 years out said tax goes to 200%. 5 years out said tax goes to 300% 3) All heavy trucks get converted to run on Nat Gas over the next 10 years. The taxpayer funds 100% of the infrastructure costs (converting gas stations, etc). 4) All imported fossil fuels are taxed at 100% in year 3, 200% in year 5 to perpetuity. 5) The owner of any home that can prove net zero energy consumption is taxed at half their ordinary income tax rate for the next 20 years. We'll pay for all this via reduced military spending. Most importantly, the real benefit will accrue to future generations of Americans.
  8. We'll NEVER stop their movement. All we can do is keep them off our shores to minimize the damage.
  9. Osama Bin Laden had loads of money and I think he was "educated" yet chose a life of terrorism. Lots of these terrorists, and for sure many of their supporters have $$ and an education....and are living a relatively decent life. You'll need to rethink your strategic solution and get back to us. In the meantime, if they ramp up the frequency maybe someday we'll STOP bringing people from that region into the USA. Period. End of story. Until then, we'll keep dumping huge amounts of money into screening, social services, etc so some of them can come here for an education, or via a refugee program.
  10. It's like a gated community....keep out the riff raff. I get it.
  11. I got bad news for aya.....few people really give u fuck about you or I. Get over it. Let Adam Smith's invisible hand continue to work it's magic, it's the best shot we got to help these peeps you proclaim to have so much compassion for.
  12. C'mon knucklehead. Innovation unlocked by incentives provided by capitalism.
  13. The bottom 10% in America today live better lives than the 1% of 100 years ago.....thanks ultimately to capitalism and the results that it produces. To an idealist though, it ain't fair.
  14. Fat, lazy guy owns farm....wants said farm passed down tax free so the Gov can't take it's slice of the action.......complains about people starving on other side of the globe. bahahaahahahahaahah
  15. But they reveal your steadfast hypocrisy and thus invalidate your position. Nice try though....keep up the attention whoring.
  16. Tell that to the folk's in line in Venezuela.
  17. Pretty sure moto's got a farm, and is overweight (ie, excess consumption). And apparently has enough excess $$ to use it on a lot of "medication". Irony much? Can't make this stuff up.
  18. If not for capitalism we wouldn't have all this food to begin with. Unequal outcomes will forever be a part of reality.
  19. Well, life isn't "fair". We all have some type of struggle(s) from time to time....extreme in some cases. But life today in the USA is in many respects better than ever....thx in part to capitalism and the way it unleashes human drive, creativity, etc etc etc. To obsess over an idealistic utopia that just ain't gonna happen seems like a fruitless endeavor. Time to make the donuts.
  20. What's crazy, this really isn't an act. SBYL.
  21. Ok, we'll go off topic. Pretty sure enslaving humans started before America, yet ended because of America.
  22. Not sure what's so funny. Offering something of value (your time, knowledge, skill, etc) in exchange for compensation of some type (usually money) simply works for both parties. Sure there are cases of abuse, but in general, especially in a competitive market-bases system, the net/net results in, all things considered, the best outcome for both parties. Just think through the exchange of a prostitute and her John. Or a drug dealer and his customer (er, "patient"). Pretty simple really. Oh, and no other system known to man has driven living standards forward faster and to a higher level then capitalism with some refereeing .
  23. OUTSTANDING video. Love that part of the country.
