As the title states, I am looking for a hood to fit an 89' or earlier Ski-doo Safari (leaf spring suspended chassis). Doesn't have to be mint, just usable. Mine has the entire RHS wiped put from the belly pan up to the windshield. Oh ya - I need a windshield for it too. Any leads appreciated.

Hard to imagine that thing not filling up with engine exhaust unless the intake pulls enough to create some sort of fresh air flow to continually evacuate the cab. Speaking of which, the intake honk inside must be deafening.

You can find videos on line which make very convincing arguments that the Earth is flat, or the Moon is actually a huge alien space station, or we are all going to die because the West Yellowstone calderra is going to erupt any day now. What I know for sure, without the help of any online videos, is that things have changed significantly since I was a kid. The data shows that things are warming up and my personal observation is that our winters are increasingly shorter and milder. Even more telling is that animals, insects and plants that have traditionally thrived further south are constantly expanding their range northward and that's definitely not due to things being colder.

Up until recently there was a large industrial groomer based not much more than 5 miles from my house as the crow flies. This section of trail is less remote than the top end of Wood Lake is for the Happy Wanderers in fact. Partially. Lack of groomer operators as well as a lack political will to get said groomers and operators out this way factors large as well. We're it not for some very discouraged permit buyers making their voices heard last year the trail wouldn't have even been packed. We're not talking about a backwoods club trail either - it's TOP B trail.

Here's hoping. However I'm hedging my bets and not sticking the permits on the sleds until the local trails open. If I'm still waiting for that to happen towards the end of January, they will be getting posted on Kijiji.

I broke down and ordered two this morning (no problem making the online purchase at 5 am BTW), however this too will be my deciding year. If the trail out back doesn't open again this season that will literally be strike number three and I'll be selling off the new sleds and enclosed trailer next fall. I will always have a bush sled or two to beat around the 'hood on the local backwoods trails, but I will be done with OFSC "organized" snowmobiling.

I hear ya, and we're it not for trailering last year I wouldn't have logged more than 100 miles. The problem is that I am in the situation where really I can only swing day trips which makes it tough. I live on the snowmobile trail and it basically hasn't opened in two years.

Fuck snow, we need cold first. Otherwise it will be another full season of closed trails in my neighborhood.

Still on the fence whether I'm going to buy permits now or wait and see what the winter brings. If I don't buy early, it will be the first time ever that I haven't.
