Gold Member BOHICA Posted September 5 Gold Member Share Posted September 5 As VW starts the process of exiting Germany its CFO says they maybe have a year or 2 left before they shut the doors. China is kicking there ass. https://www.motor1.com/news/732700/vw-finance-chief-one-two-years/
Voodoo
A quick look at some articles lead me to think VW has put most of it's eggs in the EV basket. Vehicles people don't want, can't afford, and the Chinese are dominating the market in. Sounds like stupid decisions made at the highest levels, governments included. Our government isn't much different. They want more and more Canadians driving ev's, yet they just threw a %100 tariff on the most affordable ones out there....while wasting 100 billion dollars of Canadians money on a vain effort to thwart the Chinese dominance. That money could have bought EV's for 5 million, yes 5 million Canadians. Edited September 5 by Voodoo
Matt
Chinese EVs should simply not be imported to countries with other EV options. The Chinese gov't subsidies allow the Chinese EV makers to severely undercut other brands on price. It's hardly a fair fight.

ActionfigureJoe
It’s doubtful they will exit Germany. The vehicle market has definitely changed. More diverse options and more variety of taste from consumers. People are able to keep vehicles longer. Remote work and tighter budgets allow this.
