And now a body in Plainfield, on and on this shit goes.

PLAINFIELD, Vt. (WCAX) - Vermont State Police are investigating a suspicious death in Plainfield Friday.

They say hunters in the woods near Gore Road found a body around 4:30 p.m. and called police.

The victim’s body was sent to the medical examiner’s office to determine cause and manner of death and identity.

As of now, no one is in custody.

I saw this on the channel 3 news earlier this morning. Crazy how many there have been in the area recently.

PLAINFIELD, Vt. (WCAX) - As homicide investigations continue to pile up for the Vermont State Police, authorities Monday revealed new details about the latest case in Plainfield.

In all, authorities are now investigating five confirmed homicides and one suspicious death investigation -- a total of seven deaths since the start of October.

The latest body found in the woods in Plainfield Friday belongs to Jeffrey Caron, 42, of Barre. Police Sunday confirmed he died from a gunshot wound to the torso. They say Caron had recently been arrested following a lengthy drug investigation in Barre. Officers say he and another person were caught with crack cocaine and fentanyl. Police did not comment on a drug-related motive in Caron’s murder.

The investigation in Plainfield comes on top of other open cases in Castleton, Newport Town, Wheelock, Eden, and Washington.

Vermont State Police Major Dan Trudeau says while all of the investigations are ongoing, their prioritization changes day to day. “If there’s something that really needs to move right to the front burner immediately and we need to put more resources on it, then we measure up where we can pull resources from to do that,” he said. “There’s a lot of components to these investigations, whether it’s crime scene examination, or interviews of witnesses and family, or anything of that nature. And then the component of any digital type of evidence that we need to collect or search warrants we need to conduct.”

Trudeau admits having to juggle so many cases is challenging, saying this is the most he can remember happening in such a short period of time in his more than 20 years on the force.

Drug related....

PLAINFIELD, Vt. (WCAX) - Police have arrested two central Vermont men in connection with the fatal shooting of a Barre man found in Plainfield last week.

The Vermont State Police say Kyle Bressette, 35, of Barre and Chris Relation, 51, of Berlin were taken into custody following a standoff with police in Berlin Monday night.

Bressette faces charges of second-degree murder in the shooting death of Jeffrey Caron, 42. Relation is being charged as an accessory.

Police say hunters found Caron’s body in the woods near Gore Road around 4:30 p.m. Friday and called police. They say the shooting arose from a dispute involving drugs and that Relation assisted Bressette following the shooting and failed to report the incident to police.

The arrests were made at a home on Turner Hill Road in Berlin where both men were staying. Police say Bressette and Relation initially refused commands to leave the home, but after several hours they surrendered.

Police on Monday said Caron and another individual were recently arrested with crack cocaine and fentanyl following a lengthy drug investigation in Barre.

Bressette was also wanted by police on a pending arrest warrant for charges of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, aggravated operation of a vehicle without owner’s consent, operating a vehicle with a suspended license, failure to use an ignition interlock device, and petit larceny.

Both men are expected to be arraigned Tuesday afternoon in Barre.

Body of missing Vermont woman found shot to death in container, police say

TROY, Vt. — The body of a missing Vermont woman was found dead in a container on a riverbank, and police said she was shot to death.

Wright was last seen in Troy on Feb. 2, the Caledonian Record newspaper of St. Johnsbury reported. According to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office, Wright died of a gunshot wound to the head. The manner of death has been ruled a homicide.

Police carried a search warrant to a home in North Troy in connection to the investigation, but no arrests have been made, WPTZ-TV reported.

There is no word about any suspects, and it was unclear whether Wright was killed at the park or if her body was taken there from another location.

Police said they believe the shooting was an isolated incident, WCAX reported.

An investigation is ongoing. Departments working on the case include the Newport Police Department, the Orleans County Sheriff’s Department and Homeland Security Investigations, according to the Newport Dispatch.

Hasn't been a murder in my town since the 1800's and that was bout 7 miles outside of town.  I believe a drunk brother assaulted the others wife so they killed him.

This is how it works here in Vt. Found large quantities of drugs, firearms and cash, not from the area and released on a citation. One of our locals murdered just a few days ago by one of these sub humans and the law enforcement agencies and judicial  do nothings are wondering why our community is at it's boiling point. Vigilanties anyone?

So a buddy of my son who owns a septic tank cleaning business texted this morning that he was going to the house that she was last seen in to hydro the system. This afternoon they found shell casings probably used in the killing. Lots of people involved in this killing and all are scumbags. Can only hope.

ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. (WCAX) - Police have arrested a 15-year-old suspect in the murder of a Vermont woman.

Vermont state police say Christina Chatlos, 38, was shot and killed during a fight in St. Johnsbury last month.

According to court paperwork, investigators say Mohamad Said, 15, of Springfield, Massachusetts, pulled the trigger. Investigators say it stemmed from a drug deal that took a violent turn.

Chatlos, of Williamstown and Barre, was found dead on Jan. 23 inside a car with bullet holes in it parked in a lot on Portland Street, on the grounds of the Cornerstone School.

Investigators say Said will be charged as an adult with second-degree murder. The teen was arrested in Massachusetts on the Vermont murder warrant Monday. He’s due in juvenile court in Massachusetts on Monday.

Police say Said was initially taken into custody after the shooting on an unrelated warrant out of Massachusetts. He was extradited there and remained in juvenile custody there as the Vermont investigation progressed.

Said is now awaiting extradition to Vermont. If convicted, he could face 20 years to life behind bars.

Plea deal coming up. Poor young fella just strayed off path.

Little more info on the young lady that was shot and thrown in the river. Dismembered because she wouldn't fit in the tool box.
