I’m not sure anyone here has the fundamentals required to make that type of assessment. It’s depends on the scrubbers China may use and the type of maintenance schedule on those scrubbers. While China is buiding out a lot of coal fired plants, it’s expanding solar to a greater degree, adding 120 gigawatts for 2023. That’s 6 times the rate of America in adapting solar. America is really fucking stupid over the solar issue.

If Chinas power grid is coal it takes massive amounts of it to just get gas in consumers vehicles

Businesses were ordered to shut down for days at a time. Their grid absolutely sucks ass. It’s far worse than what we have here. Just scratch under the surface and you’ll see how fucked up electrification is in China.

In America poss China no fucking way . And that is only if you don't include the raw material and shipping in to the game

Very energy intensive to produce gas and diesel. China doesn’t have US or Euro level emissions on there vehicles either. They have dirty ice cars and dirty power plants Edited April 4, 2023 by BOHICA
Ez ryder
Less energy to get and refine gas than build battery packs and the energy to power them especaly if powering with coal shipped to China with bunker fuel You know the same bunker tankers used to ship lithium

While EV’s take make more emissions to build their fuel sources produce much less emissions and become a net emission reduction vs ICE vehicles. China doesn’t have a large domestic oil production and import the majority of there fossil fuels for transportation. Lots of emissions involved in getting crude and fuels to China. Then lots of emissions generated to get it into the tanks and burned in relatively dirt cars. China produces most of its coal needs locally and has small amounts of imports
