Carlos Danger Posted March 9, 2023 Share Posted March 9, 2023 They have been using the older F22s as test beds for some of the new sensors and computers that will go into the NGAD which is a pretty good deal as it may end up extending the life of the F22. the sixth gen fighter is not going to be like current fighters at all it will be more of a long range bomber type plane with high top speed and long legs. The thing is new air to air missiles are going to make dogfighting extinct not that it already is close to extinct. The AMMRAm 260 and others are almost operational as is some new smaller air to air Missiles designed to increase the number that can be carried by current stealth fighters. And that is just what they are willing to talk about. I don't think the B21 is fully understood yet it is a much different plane than the B2. It is designed to be low maintenance and be able to work away from fancy bases unlike the B2. I think it will end up being much cheaper than the B2 all things considered.
