Pete
The city of Buffalo, New York, has filed a "first of its kind" lawsuit targeting firearms manufacturers, blaming the industry for rising gun violence despite New York's strict gun control regime. Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown on Tuesday announced the wide-ranging lawsuit would be filed against "manufacturers, distributors, and other local gun shops." Major manufacturers, including Beretta, Smith & Wesson, Bushmaster, Glock and Remington, are named as defendants in the suit, as well as ghost gun retailers Polymer 80 and Arm or Ally. "Members of our community have suffered too much and for too long from gun violence. We must do everything we can to decrease gun violence. Enabling the possession of illegal guns destroys lives and deeply effects our neighborhoods, especially in Black and Brown communities," said Brown. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/buffalo-announces-first-kind-lawsuit-gun-manufacturers

hayward
How in the hell would the gun manufacturer be responsible for any of this? The only way a distributor or a local gun shop could be held liable was if they were selling or handing guns out illegally. If they were following govt. rules doing business selling firearms, then they might as well wipe their asses with all the paperwork and money they're going to waste. The lawyers will love this shit. If there's that many lives ruined by gun violence, then maybe it's time they go back to putting forth some effort and utilize their fists if they're so unhappy with one another. Fucking lazy ass people this day in age.

ICG
A test case with no direct liability statutes to hold a retailer or manufacturer liable.... The public will pay $$$$ in higher prices & the vultures (lawyers) will line their pockets. Great... Frivolous litigation in an anti gun neighborhood.....
