Russia has been stock piling gold (so has China)...I see this as a move to support their currency as the dollar falls out of favor.

The dollar is by far the desired current in the world. As for gold, neither of their currency is pegged to gold. The US has more than 4 times their gold. In a 24 hour period the US could collapse the price of gold.

The dollar is, and for several reasons. But we are beyond broke fighting wars for theft.

Gold is being manipulated to hurt the guys the bankers don't like  who have a bunch of gold. Also a flawed plan.

I have every confidence that the psychopaths in American finance are far superior in intellect and capability to the financial psychopaths of communist China and Russia.

US dollar for the win

History doesn't indicate that. The Chinese have a penchant of self destruction. There's nothing in today's China that says otherwise. Their ruling class becomes so murderous and incompetent that it's unable to rule. The myth that China has a "long game" is a preposterous idea made up by some stupid Americans that are too lazy to read and examine China's patterns of governing.

Recent history proves otherwise. Don't overestimate people's aversion to being ruled. We are seeing that more here everyday. And don't underestimate the stupidity of Americans.

Paul Wells wrote an excellent Op Ed on China last year. He accurately depicts the repeating cycle of Chinese disfunction. At this point China is entering into stage 4 and 5. .

  • Internal government upheaval – Some faction takes charge of a fractured, and invariably extremely corrupt government. This process is usually almost invisible externally.
  • An “emperor” is made – China’s most conspicuous leaders are de facto emperors, competent or otherwise. They have extraordinary power, far beyond their predecessors in their own governments. The imperial mode seems to be the default.
  • Opposition is destroyed – However innocuous, all visible dissent ceases. Any reason is invented to remove opponents and critics.
  • Economic problems become severe – Wealth and power have an unambiguous history in China’s destructive eras. Wealth corrupts; China suffers.
  • External factors come into play – China has a unique history of bizarre relations with the rest of the world. Whether it’s the Mongols, Soviets, colonial powers or the Americans, this highly reactive and often extremely clumsy relationship drives all future moves.

I have extreme faith that the long held quality of American stupidity will prevail.

Boomers elevated everything. Work ethic, income consolidation, education, military expertise.

They elevated the decline of domestic manufacturing

Those decisions were made before the boomers had any real power. It was the greatest generation that got that ball rolling. Be truthful.
