Those are some fat coons.
Skidude600
No way I'd do that. Those things are cute from far away, but nasty up close.

I discourage them from visiting when I can.

Skidude600
Lol! I can imagine. Our dogs won't leave anything alone. Squirrels, chipmunk, rabbits you name it. I'll never forget the time a rather brave squirrel would tease the shit out of the dogs by running along the top of the fence chattering at them. This went on for months until one day said squirrel was found dead on the deck by the back door. This was during winter so there was snow on the ground. Evidently Mr squirrel got too brave and found himself surrounded by 3 unhappy labs. I found the scene of his demise. A patch of blood in the middle of a circle of dog prints. I can just imagine the 3 of them looking at him and saying "what now, bitch?". I got quite a chuckle out of that and they got a few extra treats. My only worry is they'll think a skunk or porcupine might be fun to play with, too.

They show up every night for a hand out.

I only have a pair of Red Fox, so I don't wanna cap them. I think it's the coyotes that kill a lot...................cap them for sure.
