Parker 425

Recommended Posts

Well the annual week long event called the Parker 425 wrapped up yesterday. This race has been going on for over 4 decades and started out as the Parker 400 back in the day when Ivan Stewart and Walker Evans used to battle one another in stock Yodas and F-150’s with beefed up shocks.

This is an incredible event for any motorsports enthusiast.

A few pics from the Parker Experience on Wednesday. These rigs have just completed their qualifying lap.

The race started yesterday morning at 7am. The sun hadn't quite broken above the horizon when the green flag dropped.

A friend of mine in Havasu sponsors the #70, Concrete Motorsports team. This is a brand new Geiser Brothers G6 Trophy Truck. This is the very latest in Trophy Truck technology.  This truck is powered by a 950hp supercharged 4.6L Ford built by Roush Racing.  The motor package alone is $250k

Lets see if some of these videos will post.

7am yesterday morning. Im parked at Race Mile 4 of the 145 mile long course.

How in the fuck can a motor package be 250k .....does the fucking thing come shipped in a solid gold crate?

Well its a motor that starts life as a solid billet ingot. It has to make +900hp and survive 9000 rpm for 8 hours straight. $250k sounded a little high to me but two different teams told me the Roush engine packages cost that much. Maybe thats what the motor package cost for the entire season of racing.

They beat the hell out of those trucks. Wouldn’t surprise me that the costs are yuge.

It just seems like a really high number

Wonder why they dont use the 3.5 ecoboost package made for the Ford GT?

Damn those engines sound awesome

Jason Voss in his Geiser Brothers G6 Trick Truck powered by a 950hp Roush motor was clocked at 110mph on the stretch in front of us

Here he is going by on the final lap

Not sure. I think these are pushrod motors. They are cloaked in Carbon fiber so its hard to see them but the Roush motors look a lot like a LS when bolted in the chassis.
